But there are exceptions to everything, such as Zou Zuohua, who was introduced today, and finally threw himself into Chiang Kai-shek's account.
Zou Zuohua is a rare talent in the artillery profession, he is the first place in the artillery section of the Japanese Army Non-Commissioned Officer School, and the pioneer of Chinese artillery. At that time, the artillery of the Northeast Army was the most powerful in the Chinese army, and Zhang Xueliang attributed this to Zou Zuohua, saying that this was all because of Zou Zuohua's professional training.
Zou Zuohua showed his characteristics of current affairs very early on. For example, in 1925, Guo Songling launched a mutiny, winning consecutive victories all the way to Zhang Zuolin's old lair, Fengtian. At that time, Zou Zuohua was one of Guo Songling's confidants and was appointed chief of staff. Originally, Zou Zuohua had always been dead set on Guo Songling, but after seeing Guo Songling raise an army to rebel, Zou Zuohua felt that this was an impossible thing to succeed, so he secretly prepared to rebel against the water.
In the end, Guo Songling's mutiny failed, and Zhang Zuolin successfully counterattacked, relying on Zou Zuohua. When Guo Songling was about to advance to Fengtian, Zou Zuohua secretly sent two engineering companies, removed all the fuses of the shells, and secretly told Zhang Zuolin about it. Without the threat of artillery, Zhang Zuolin immediately launched a counterattack and turned defeat into victory in one fell swoop.
From then on, Zhang Zuolin used Zou Zuohua very much, entrusting all the artillery in the northeast to him, and Zou Zuohua became the commander of the Fengjun artillery, and during this period, Zou Zuohua was very loyal to Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang, until the Xi'an Incident occurred, and Zou Zuohua's thinking changed again.
A few years before the Xi'an Incident, Chiang Kai-shek was very envious of the artillery construction of the Northeast Army, and he also knew that the key figure in it was Zou Zuohua, so he let Zou Zuohua set up an army artillery school and trained many artillery talents. At that time, Chiang Kai-shek gave him as many funds as Zou Zuohua wanted, which made Zou Zuohua very moved.
After the Xi'an Incident, Zou Zuohua also struggled, not knowing which side he should take, and finally after a few days of deliberation, he chose to fall to Chiang Kai-shek. So he held a press conference, publicly pledged allegiance to Chiang Kai-shek, called for his protection, and then led all the northeastern teachers and staff in the artillery school to kneel in front of He Yingqin, saying that they had voluntarily pleaded guilty and unconditionally loyal to the National Government in Nanjing.
After the peaceful settlement of the Xi'an Incident, Chiang Kai-shek also heard about Zou Zuohua's deeds and recognized it more in his heart, and even privately called Zou Zuohua a brother and a brother. Moreover, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chiang Kai-shek immediately appointed Zou as the commander-in-chief of the national artillery, and was later promoted to a second-class general in the army, which can be described as a great achievement in battle.
We cannot evaluate whether Zou Zuohua's actions in the Xi'an incident were right or wrong, but what is certain is that he was able to display his talents and make contributions to the anti-Japanese resistance during the anti-Japanese war, which can only be given to him by Chiang Kai-shek and not given to him by Zhang Xueliang.
