Tesla is now in communication with customers who have ordered discontinued models and says it will not honor the retroactive pricing of fully autonomous driving kits to the price they booked the vehicle.
Tesla officially canceled the Model Y long-endurance afterdrive model in the United States earlier this month (Musk later said that the reason is that Tesla's "product is already too complicated"), Tesla suggested that model Y rear-wheel long-endurance reservation holders modify the order, and hope that they choose the vehicle currently produced and pay an additional price, but because Tesla's vehicle price has been rising since users ordered, so many users want to be able to provide preferential prices.
Take Tesla's original plan to cash in on the FSD kit for $7,000 (about 44,000 yuan) when customers booked their vehicles, and now Tesla's FSD kit is currently priced at $10,000 (about 63,000 yuan).
"We are in the process of contacting you regarding your Model Y order [VIN] placed on March 15, 2019. We want to help you update your configuration, because we don't build the configuration you originally chose. A former pre-orderer also said: "I tried to buy another model, but the price increased by $20,00!" Fully autonomous driving is now $10,000, and when I first booked, it was less than half that price. Since I'm an early adopter, can TESLA deliver on my original price for FSD? ”
However, the booking holder was told by Tesla staff that the company would not adhere to any of the old pricing: "Thank you for your letter, we will not honor any of the previous pricing. Once you update your configuration, it will be updated to the current pricing"
