But there are still many ancient tombs that have not been discovered. Once the tombs of a dynasty are discovered, the dynasty will have a deeper understanding of the dynasty, which will allow archaeology to take it a step forward.
Recently, archaeologists discovered a new imperial tomb in Shaanxi Province, which is located near Bailuyuan in Xi'an City. Xi'an was originally a city with a long history, or the ancient capital of several dynasties, so it is not surprising that ancient tombs are found here. However, when this ancient tomb was first discovered, it was thought that it was a princess tomb after careful investigation and found that this was the ancient tomb of Emperor Wen of Han.
It should be known that the specifications of the princess tomb and the emperor's tomb are still much different, after all, the status of the king of a country and a princess is very different. So why is this tomb considered a princess tomb, or because it was stolen before. The cemetery was discovered by archaeologists as early as 2001 and has been studied.
At first, the tomb was first discovered by tomb robbers, and the tomb had been destroyed many times by tomb robbers when it was surveyed by archaeologists, so the study of the overall imperial tomb was forced to be terminated many times. This cemetery is on the west side of the Queen's Cemetery, and the tomb robbers have already transported a lot of cultural relics from it at that time, it is understood that there are about three hundred pieces, and only a lot more.
Because it was on the west side of the Queen's Cemetery, and the number of artifacts after it was stolen was reduced, it was only suspected to be the cemetery of the princess at that time. In addition, the cemetery of Princess Guantao was not discovered at that time, so archaeologists first identified this as the tomb of Princess Guantao. At that time, the princesses of the Han Dynasty were of high status, very favored by the emperor, and the regulation of the cemetery was higher than that of the general duke.
Although this tomb covers a relatively large area, it is also in line with the status of a princess of the Han Dynasty. However, many tombs of Han Dynasty princes have been found before, and this tomb is much smaller than this tomb. According to historical records, the tombs of princesses in the Han Dynasty will generally be similar to the regulations of the princes, and the specifications are higher but not obvious, but this tomb will be much larger than that of the princes of the same period.
With this question in mind, archaeologists are once again conducting research. After research, it was found that this cemetery is indeed very large, and it can be more boldly speculated that it may be the tomb of the emperor of the Han Dynasty. After careful study, this view was also confirmed, and on the 14th, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage also issued a message that the imperial tomb of Emperor Wen of Han had been discovered.
The tomb of Emperor Wen of Han has not been found before, because the emperors of the Han Dynasty were buried with the empress. After the discovery of Empress Dou's tomb, archaeologists mainly surveyed the tomb of Emperor Wen of Han centered on the empress's tomb, but many of the investigations found nothing. However, according to historical records, Emperor Wen of Han was indeed buried with Empress Dou, and since it was not found, the search scope should be expanded.
Archaeologists have always believed that the tomb of Emperor Wendi of Han should be near the mouth of the phoenix, but after a long period of investigation, no auspicious cemetery has been found. Archaeologists have also said that whether the tomb of Emperor Wendi of Han is no longer a phoenix mouth at all, it is because the direction of research is wrong, which has led to the fact that the tomb of Emperor Wendi of Han has not been found so far.
According to tradition, the tombs of emperors of the Han Dynasty occupy a very large floor, and it is necessary to ensure that the cemetery is smooth, which is the tradition of ancient cemeteries. The geographical location of the highest and lowest places in the Phoenix Mouth is very different, with a gap of two or three hundred meters, and it is difficult to build a square and flat cemetery under such a height difference.
In ancient times, many buildings for ceremonies were built near the cemetery, and it was difficult to build symmetrical buildings around this geographical location with such a large gap between the upper and lower levels. Coupled with the fact that the gap between the Phoenix Mouth and the tomb of the empress once found was very far, it had reached more than two thousand meters, and the normal tombs of the emperor and empress could not be so far away.
Because many archaeologists have raised such questions, plus these evidences that have been verified. Therefore, people also began to change their thinking, whether the tomb of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty still existed elsewhere. With new ideas, archaeologists began to investigate the mausoleum near the queen, and the suspected princess mausoleum discovered in 2001 once again appeared in the eyes of archaeologists
The regulation of this mausoleum is indeed not like the tomb of the princess, but at that time, because the tomb robbers had damaged the mausoleum, it was to disturb the thinking of archaeologists, and after re-examining it, it was found that this cemetery was indeed the tomb of Emperor Wen of Han.
Emperor Wen of Han was a very famous emperor of the Han Dynasty, and Emperor Wen of Han was the grandson of the founding emperor Liu Bang. He also inherited the lofty ambitions of his father and grandfather, was very diligent in the government of the dynasty, and was also very kind to the people of the Han Dynasty. During his reign, the people of the Han Dynasty had enough food and clothing, and the society was also smooth, and the Han Dynasty became more and more powerful and prosperous under his development.
It was under the leadership of Emperor Wen of Han that the Han Dynasty appeared the first Kaiyuan prosperous era, that is, the rule of Wenjing. Such an emperor's cemetery will naturally have many rare treasures, attracting many tomb robbers. It is precisely for this reason that the discovery of the tomb of Emperor Wen of Han was pushed back by nearly twenty years.
Archaeologists have carefully investigated the cemetery to verify that the cemetery is indeed the burial place of Emperor Wen of Han. After expanding the scope of the study, it was found that there were many pits around this cemetery, many buildings set up according to etiquette, and most importantly, there were gate sites on all four sides of this cemetery, which further confirmed that this cemetery was the emperor's mausoleum.
This cemetery is very close to the queen's mausoleum that has been discovered, which is in line with the distance recorded in the historical records of the emperor and empress. The placement of treasures in the mausoleum also conforms to the highest regulations of the Han Dynasty, and the tombs of the Empress Dowager and the Empress are found around here, which is more certain that this is the mausoleum of Emperor Wen of Han.
The Han Dynasty was divided into the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Western Han Dynasty, and there were eleven emperors in the Western Han Dynasty. Now archaeologists in China have discovered the tombs of Emperor Gaozu of Han, Emperor Jingdi of Han, Emperor Wu of Han, emperor Wen of Han and other emperors. Their mausoleums have their own characteristics, showing the dignity of the status of ancient emperors, and these imperial tombs have also been included in the world cultural heritage declaration project.
For some reasons, this tomb of Emperor Wendi of Han was discovered twenty years later, but the burial ground now identified as Emperor Wendi of Han has also added a lot of color to archaeology, and it is hoped that more things that can confirm history will be discovered.
