After the death of Emperor Hui of Han, Liu Ying, Lü Hou usurped power, and the Lü clan controlled the imperial government. After The death of Lü Hou, Zhou Bo and Chen Pingping eliminated Lü Hou's forces and established Liu Heng as Emperor Wen of Han. Because the day of appeasement of Zhulu was the fifteenth day of the first month, every year on the night of the fifteenth day of the first month, Emperor Wen of Han went out of the palace in a small costume and enjoyed with the people to commemorate it. And the fifteenth day of the first month is designated as the Lantern Festival.
