Summary of the Dongguan press conference: The nucleic acid test results of the close contacts are negative, and the source of infection is still under investigation

On December 13, Dalang Town, Dongguan, Guangdong Province, found two cases of asymptomatic COVID-19 infection in a nucleic acid test for returnees from epidemic-related areas outside the province. At noon on December 14, Dongguan held a press conference to report on the handling of the local epidemic situation of new crown pneumonia that occurred in Dalang Town, Dongguan City on December 13.

All 199 close contacts tested negative for nucleic acid

Li Jun, vice mayor of Dongguan City, said that as of 12 o'clock today, 199 close contacts have been preliminarily identified, all of whom have been isolated and tested for nucleic acid sampling, and the current results are negative.

In addition, as of 12:00 today, a total of 802369 people have been sampled in Dalang Town, and 255292 copies of the results have been issued, all of which are negative.

The source of infection is still under investigation

Zhang Qiaoli, director of the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau, said that after investigation, a total of 31 key places (30 in Dalang Town and 1 in Changping Town) were determined, and all places have been closed and managed. A total of 1,000 environmental specimens outside the above key places were collected for on-site disposal for nucleic acid testing of the new crown virus, 996 negative and 4 positive, which were the beds, entrance door handles, toilet faucets and garage door handles of the two asymptomatic infected people. Based on the clinical presentation of the case, combined with the field epidemiological investigation and laboratory test results, the two positive testers were asymptomatic infected people, and the source of infection is still under investigation.

In order to control the epidemic in a timely and effective manner and resolutely block the chain of epidemic transmission, on the evening of December 13, Dongguan organized overnight nucleic acid screening for all employees in Dalang Town. A total of 89 sampling points were set up, and a total of 1,800 medical personnel from 17 medical institutions in the city were requisitioned. Combined with the flow adjustment situation, in order to effectively control the epidemic situation, at 9:00 a.m. on December 14, Dongguan expanded the scope of nucleic acid screening to four town streets (parks) such as Changping, Liaobu, Dongkeng and Songshan Lake. On the afternoon of December 14, Huangjiang and Dalingshan towns will also start nucleic acid testing for all employees. Next, Dongguan will also take further prevention and control measures based on the results of personnel and environmental testing in relevant town streets.
