When the battle entered the most intense stage, the casualties of the soldiers on the position were too large, in order to prevent the Japanese army from breaking through the position held by the 83rd Division, Liu Jie personally entered the position to participate in the battle, and organized the health soldiers, cooking soldiers, and organ logistics personnel of the whole division that originally belonged to the non-combat troops into the battle, and never let the Japanese take any advantage from the positions held by the 83rd Division.
After a fierce battle, the Japanese army was seriously injured and had to temporarily stop attacking the positions along the Great Wall, while Liu Jie and the 83rd Division remained firmly on the position.
