1st place: Dong Zhao
Dong Zhao, a native of Chang'an, Shaanxi, was recommended by his right post to apply for the Whampoa Military Academy in 1924, and after graduation, he participated in the Northern Expedition with the army, and for a period of time also served as a guard for Sun Yat-sen. Later, he was promoted to commander of the Xi'an Garrison.
After the July 7 Incident, Dong Zhao led the 28th Division to engage the Japanese army and prevent it from crossing the Yellow River. During the Battle of Taierzhuang, Dong led his troops to Taierzhuang for reinforcements, and was ordered to block the westward advance from Qingdao in the Tancheng area of Shandong. Dong Zhao's troops encountered the Yamada Regiment of the Rikou Banyuan Division in the Sugou area of the North and South Sugou areas under Tancheng. The officers and men of the whole division heroically killed the enemy, repelled the Yamada United, and captured a large amount of booty. The officers and men of the division suffered more than 3,000 casualties.
After the victory of the War of Resistance, civil war broke out, and Dong Zhao led his army to attack the liberated areas of southern Jin, only to be defeated by Chen Geng and lose the First Brigade of Tianxia. In the battle against the Northwest Field Army, Dong Zhao was repeatedly defeated. He was eventually removed from his post as commander. He went to Taiwan in December 1949. He died in Taiwan on September 30, 1977.
2nd place: Liu Jie
Liu Jie, a native of Taoyuan, Hunan Province, graduated from the first phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, and in the subsequent battles, Liu Jie was a pioneer and a soldier, and made many military achievements, and was promoted by platoon commander, company commander, commander and brigade commander. However, during a battle, he was wounded by a stray bullet in his right eye and later made a false eye, so everyone also called him General Cyclops.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he accompanied Xu Tingyao to participate in the Great Wall War of Resistance, and later participated in the Battle of Xinkou, killing more than 10,000 Japanese troops, more than the number of enemies annihilated in the Battle of Pingjianguan commanded by Lin. After the battle, Liu Jie was promoted to commander of the 93rd Army for his merits.
In 1943, the Japanese army launched the Battle of Yuxianggui, because Liu Jie had let go of his friend Wei Wei for many years, and was dismissed from his post as a military commander by Chiang Kai-shek, at the request of Hu Zongnan, Liu Jiewei was reused again, and it can be said that Liu Jie's achievements in the War of Resistance were relatively rich. However, in the civil war, Liu Jie was ambushed by Mr. Peng, surrounded, defeated and killed himself at the age of 42.
