Qin Wenjun introduced children's literature to young readers
When I was 28 years old, I published my first novella, Shining Fireflies, in Giant magazine, and was transferred to children's publishing house as a literary editor. At that time, Mr. Chen Bochui served as a consultant for the Children's Publishing House, and would come every week to advise on the publication of children's literature, and he was 76 years old that year, and he was still immersed in writing and reviewing manuscripts all day, encouraging everyone to write big literature for children.
At an internal tea party at the end of the year, Mr. Chen Bochui came, and Mr. Zhu Yan, the editor-in-chief of Giant Magazine, took me to Mr. Chen Bochui and introduced me as a new young author, and when I mentioned my name, Mr. Chen Bochui smiled and said to me: "I just read your "Shining Fireflies", and the little protagonist Shun'er wrote well. ”
He asked me why I chose children's literature, and when he learned that I had been a teacher in Heilongjiang for five years, he frequently nodded. As a fledgling child, I was enveloped in a huge sense of happiness, and to this day, I am still deeply grateful for thinking of this scene. Mr. Chen Bochui is a highly respected generation of children's literature masters, with a pure old-school reading temperament, profound learning, elegant and modest, his dedication and obsession with children's literature, full of personality charm and strong appeal, and also encouraged me to hand over my literary talents and expectations for the future to the cause of children's literature in the next 40 years.
Everyone respectfully calls Mr. Chen Bochui Chen Bolao, and after getting acquainted with each other, I sometimes omit a word and call him Chen Bo. I also feel that Elder Chen is as affectionate, enthusiastic and benevolent as the old uncle next door. At that time, I lived in Nanchang Road, Chongqing South Road, he lived in Ruijin Road Nanchang Road, many times he walked after dinner, walked and would bend to my door, stand in the compound and talk to my "little friend" about his recent prose works, but also talk about the past and current situation of children's literature, introduce me to beautiful books, and sometimes ask me to bring the manuscripts of anonymous authors to various editorial departments. Later, I was able to see Elder Chen in the canteen of the publishing house. I was afraid to get in line, and every lunch would get into the cafeteria, which was sparsely populated and almost closed, so I ran to take a bite. I can't imagine that Elder Chen bo is also "not active in eating", and sometimes he comes to eat very late. A few times I saw him sitting alone in the most unattracted couple, and the waiter next to him was already cleaning up the table and sweeping the floor, so I ran to ask him if the food was cold, whether it was hot or not, he said it was okay, explaining that he was busy with the work at hand, unconsciously overtime, and became a waste of sleep and forgot to eat.
From the perspective of resume, Chen Bolao published his first novella "School Life" in 1927, and in his 91-year life resume, he devoted himself to children's education, children's literature creation and research for 75 consecutive years, until the last moment of his life. His collection of fairy tales "A Cat Who Wants to Fly", the review collection "A Brief Introduction to Children's Literature", and the translations "The Wizard of Oz", "Little Shatty", and "The Man Who Betrayed His Heart" have become the most precious treasures at the bottom of the box in the treasure house of children's literature.

The Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award, which was personally created by Mr. Chen Bochui, has been 40 years old this year, and has achieved fruitful results and benefited many latecomers. As one of the beneficiaries of literature, I have the honor of being affiliated with the Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award five times, including "The Apartment of the Big Dog Kalakla" winning the grand prize, in 2017, I won the Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award for Writer of the Year Award, and in 2020, I was also invited to serve as the final judge of the Chen Bochui Prize.
In my mind, chen bochui international children's literature award is elegant, pure, adhere to the way of literature, carry forward the beauty of literature award, it has characteristics, realm, height, may it always uphold Mr. Chen Bochui's clear and transparent spiritual temperament, elegant and quiet, outstanding, unique and eternal literary light.
