On December 28th, the first "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature Innovation Award" award ceremony was held in Shanghai Writers Association. The award ceremony was jointly organized by Shanghai Writers Association, Children's Publishing House and Shanghai Children's Book Promotion Association.
Qin Wenjun is a famous Chinese children's literature writer, and in her 40 years of persistent creative career, she has unswervingly cared for children, with broad feelings and lofty realms. The classic image of children's literature she created, "Jarry for Boys, Jammeh for Girls," is the golden memory of generations of readers in the Republic. The first "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature Innovation Award" was officially launched in December 2020, and in just a few months of manuscript call, a total of nearly 800 submissions were received, with a total word count of 33.9 million words. Submissions are diverse in genre, covering novels, fairy tales, poems, and essays. The content is rich and diverse, ranging from novels that focus on social reality and reflect social hotspots, as well as works that focus on special groups and vulnerable groups. The winning works of the first "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature Innovation Award" have a variety of themes, giving people a refreshing literary texture. The "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature Innovation Award" includes the "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature New Work Award" and the "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature Rookie Award". The "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature New Works Award" is aimed at young and middle-aged writers and literature lovers; the "Qin Wenjun Children's Literature Rookie Award" is aimed at primary and secondary school students under the age of eighteen. The call for papers is from now until May 31, 2022. The subject matter, genre and length of the submitted works are not limited, each author is limited to one entry, if multiple manuscripts are submitted, it will be regarded as invalid submissions.
