In the Shanghai Writers Bookstore, the bookstore where it is easiest to meet writers, an exhibition of the writers' literary works is the most complementary.

On February 28, the "2022 Chinese New Year Shanghai Writers Association Members Literary Works Exhibition" was officially opened at the Writers Bookstore on Julu Road in Shanghai. Shanghai writers joined hands to bring out a literary feast, and among the 151 members who participated in the exhibition, including Wang Anyi, Ye Xin, Wang Xiaoying, Sun Yan, Zhao Lihong, Jin Yucheng, Chen Sihe, Chen Cun, Qin Wenjun, Wang Xiaoming, Chen Danyan, Sun Ganlu, Yang Yang and other famous writers, the lineup is strong.

The exhibition is guided by the Shanghai Writers Association, sponsored by the Shanghai Book And Periodicals Distribution Industry Association, the Shanghai Writers Association Creation Office, the Shanghai Literary Creation Center, and hosted by Shanghai Writers Club Co., Ltd. (Writers Bookstore). In order to prepare for the exhibition, the Municipal Writers Association solicited new literary works published in 2020 and 2021 from members in the second half of last year, which received a warm response.

"In the past two years, Shanghai writers have carried out a lot of collective creation and self-creation around major themes, and this exhibition brings together 278 kinds of works created by 151 members of the Writers Association in the past two years, which is a concentrated display of the latest achievements in Shanghai literary creation." This kind of concentrated display has not been done before, this is a new attempt," Wang Wei, secretary of the party group of the Shanghai Writers Association, introduced, "in the future, it is also possible that through the book distribution industry association, in conjunction with other bookstores to continue to launch such literary creation exhibitions, it will be of great benefit to promote Shanghai writers and Shanghai theme works to more readers." ”

The 278 works on display this time have a variety of themes, including red-themed reading materials, lyrics of Shanghai culture and Jiangnan culture, and more works suitable for young people to read. Many of the best works have been organized and promoted by the Municipal Writers Association around the theme of celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Party, such as the "Red Footprints" series of trilogies "The Red Secret in Shikumen", "The Spark of Stars in the Dark Night", "The Dawn of Victory Before Dawn", and the "Red Starting Point" series "Zhong Ying: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai", "Great Anniversary Day", "New Yuyangli No. 6", "Sonorous Overture - Secretariat of the Chinese Labor Group", "Shanghai Morning - Remembering the First University Founded by the COMMUNIST Party", "Dawn of the Towel": The Beginning and End of the CPC's First Civilian Girls' School", "White Paper and Red Characters", "Up - Documentary of the Film Production of "Children of the Storm" and the Creation of the "March of the Volunteer Army"", "Unforgettable Commemoration - Three Armed Uprisings of Shanghai Workers", etc.

Other important works include Wang Anyi's long new work "A Knife, a Thousand Words", Ye Xin's "Yunshan Wanli Full of Spring", Sun Ganlu's "I Heard the Voice of the Suburbs Again: Poetry and Thoughts" and so on. "A Knife, A Thousand Words" is another novel published by Wang Anyi after "Kao Gong Ji", which traces the extraordinary growth experience of a Famous Chef huaiyang as a narrative clue, tracing his journey from childhood to middle age. Wang Anyi sincerely and sharply interrogated, pondered, dialectically, and described, advancing the narrative in the tension of revolution, ideals, beliefs, oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, inviting guests to eat, and fireworks in the world, and writing out the insoluble entanglements and lasting wounds of history, era, and individuals word by word.

"A Knife, a Thousand Words"

"Yunshan Wanli Full of Spring" is a collection of essays by Ye Xin, who spent one-third of his time living in the villages of Dashan, Guizhou, in 2020, not only experiencing the colorful ethnic customs, but also witnessing and feeling the moving achievements of the local people in completing poverty alleviation. Today's Guizhou is very different from the Guizhou when Ye Xin was a young man, and he wrote his feelings and new understanding of Guizhou into "Yunshan Wanli Full of Spring".

"I Heard the Voice of the Suburbs Again: Poetry and Thoughts" is a literary review and poetry collection by the "avant-garde" writer Sun Ganlu, which includes book reviews, art reviews and poems he has created over the years. The book is a map of private reading that has been drawn for more than 30 years: Leo Tolstoy, Proust, Kafka, Salinger, Carver, Naipaul, Echo, Zhang Ailing, Mu Xin... The soul dialogue between writers and writers, finding the original intention of reading in closeness, collision and understanding.

I Hear the Voices of the Suburbs Again: Poetry and Thoughts

Li Shuang, president of the Shanghai Book And Periodicals Distribution Industry Association, told the surging news reporter that the exhibition has created a new section of the Shanghai Bookstore Theme Book Fair, which is conducive to further introducing excellent writers and excellent works to the vast number of literary enthusiasts, further building the foundation of humanistic reading in the city, and enhancing the soft power of cultural reading in the city. During this exhibition, the managers of many brand physical bookstores in Shanghai will be invited to conduct on-site observation and zero-distance communication with writers, etc., to create a new model for the selection of books in each bookstore in the future.
