Living in the mud, writing poetry in the clouds - Yu Xiuhua

01

I haven't sent you anything in a long time

Those cheap little things

Dog tail grass falls on your desk like grass

It's more like a kind of person with bad intentions

Luckily it's you

Otherwise this earthly world

Who deserves a woman's ill-intentions

Every poem she writes is delicate, sensitive, sad yet self-healing.

In 2015, a book called "Moonlight On the Left Hand" became the best-selling poetry collection in China in 20 years.

Her words have touched countless readers. She is unpretentious, direct, warm, painful, and pale not only to praise her poetry, but also to her life.

Her story is known to more and more people, and in 2017 she was named one of the 11 strong women. Readers can hardly imagine that behind such a beautiful poem is such a painful body and a clear soul.

She is the cerebral palsy poet Yu Xiuhua.

I want to see him

Want to hear his voice

Want to see his smile

The most extravagant thing to think about was a hug from him

He started it

But I was in love

He just put the word in the palm of my hand

But I forgot to give me the love words as well

The train in my body never misrails

So allow heavy snow, storms, mudslides and absurdities

I want to be a watery poplar person

To fight these years of high concentration of loyalty and despair

Her sincerity and directness can be read from her poems, so Yu Xiuhua dares to say that she is a woman who will not cheat and cheat.

She longs for love in the poem, dares to express her views on marriage and love, and does not hide her expression of love.

Yu Xiuhua took the direct enthusiasm to the extreme, and she publicly confessed to Li Jian on Weibo, "Oh, Li Jian! The next life that gives me no memory will be you the first person I meet. Give me beauty and health, give me talent as before, give me clean as jade, give me no sorrow! And wrote more than ten love poems for him.

When Li Jian's fans said that she had a cerebral palsy and did not deserve to like Li Jian at all, she directly replied: Shut up your ass!

And her confession was eventually replied, Li Jian said: living in the mud, writing poetry in the clouds.

The simple eight words made those who laughed at her shut up instantly, and from then on, Yu Xiuhua's confidence in writing poetry was even stronger.

Born in a poor rural family, her parents are farmers, living on farming, she was born with cerebral palsy due to lack of oxygen, and she learned to walk at the age of six and spoke slurred.

At the age of 19, he was forced by his parents to marry a homeless man who was 12 years older than himself.

After marriage, Yu Xiuhua found that the tragedy of life had just begun. The husband is lazy and lazy, and when he is not happy, he also punches and kicks Yu Xiuhua.

Yu Xiuhua had enough of such a life, but her husband also laughed at her: "You want to divorce me, and you don't look at yourself in the mirror, except for me, no one wants you." ”

Because of cerebral palsy, he is unable to work, unable to support himself, and endures the blank eyes and ridicule of others all day long.

She wanted to escape from such a life, and even thought of begging. When she came to the crowded street, she couldn't get down on her knees.

Self-esteem told her that she absolutely could not do this until the last minute.

The disabled body did not imprison the free soul, and Yu Xiuhua began to write poetry.

She vented all her passion, desire, faith, and despair about life in her poems.

For six years, Yu Xiuhua sat in front of her home, supporting the computer with a shaky chair, and wrote hundreds of poems word by word.

During this time, no one could understand her and no one discovered her worth.

Some say she's delusional, some say she's overwhelmed, but she ends up holding on to her spiritual paradise.

Her poetry deserves her encounters and sufferings. The editor-in-chief of the Poetry Journal said that Yu Xiuhua's poems were placed in the poetry of Chinese female poets, just as conspicuous as placing murderers in everyone's boudoir.

Everyone else was dressed neatly, painted with grease powder, sprayed with perfume, and could not smell a little sweat in black and white.

Only she was smoky and fiery, with mud and sand, and there was a clear blood stain between the words.

After Yu Xiuhua's poetry collection went viral around the world, her economic conditions improved, and then she made a decision that puzzled everyone: divorce her husband.

Some people say that Yu Xiuhua disliked her husband because of her fame, but in Yu Xiuhua's eyes, her marriage was meaningless from the beginning.

Only when the economic conditions are good can we exchange our freedom.

Someone said, "Yu Xiuhua, you can stop writing now!" ”

Yu Xiuhua said, "I don't know what the person who said this means, is it because he thinks that my poetry is not as good as before, he can't read it, or whether I have gained a little fame now, I should retreat."

I don't think either of these statements is true, especially the second one.

No one writes poetry for fame and fortune, and when I pick up a pen to write poetry, I am left with only myself.

The poet's living environment is different, what she sees is different, her feelings will be different, and the poems and words she writes are naturally different. "Self-discipline in prosperity, self-healing in adversity."

She said that her poems are Yu Xiuhua's poems, not Yu Xiuhua's cerebral palsy, nor farmer Yu Xiuhua's! I think that life has not been a book, there are ups and downs, sometimes calm like a pool of water, we are the author and the reader.

We are reading other people's stories, and we are also reading our own stories, and Yu Xiuhua's book writes about her own understanding of life and that love, as well as her persistence about pain.

How much hardship life has given a person, how much luck will be returned to her in the future, and strive to live herself as a beam of light, illuminate herself, and warm others.
