Beckenbauer's first wife died, and their sons died six years ago

According to the German media "Bild" newspaper, Bayern Munich star Beckenbauer's first wife Brigitte died in Munich on April 16, possibly due to a femur fracture.

Wearing a red mask and a dome top hat that day, Beckenbauer, accompanied by his third wife, Heidi, came to Pera Sherford Cemetery to attend the funeral of his ex-wife, with whom he had two sons, Michael, 54, and Steffen (46), who died of cancer in 2015.
