Do you know where Mr. Cao Yu lived in his childhood? Come and see with me

author:Listen to easy in the forest

Riding on the autumn sun, today came to the Memorial Hall of Cao Yu's Former Residence located near the Minzhu DaoYifeng District in Tianjin's Hebei District. In this quiet and tranquil atmosphere, I walked into the Cao Family Courtyard with a history of more than 100 years. There are two small Italian-style buildings in the courtyard, and on the left side of the front door is a bust of Mr. Cao Yu created by the sculptor Mr. Liu Xin. Mr. Cao Yu's childhood and adolescence were spent in this small courtyard. On the first floor of the front floor is the maid's room and a large and small living room and bathroom, while the second floor is the bedroom, dining room and study of Cao Yu and his parents. The area is about 300 square meters, but it is a little strange that I don't see where the kitchen is? The back building is cao Yu's family economic problems after renting out the front building, the whole family moved to the back building to live. On the first floor is the maid's room, study, living room and the bedroom of Mr. Cao Yu's eldest brother. On the second floor is the bedroom study dining room of Mr. Cao Yu's parents and Cao Yu (but still do not see where the kitchen is). It is similar to the area of the front building, but the light feels less good than the front building, giving people a sense of depression. Mr. Cao Yu has only lived in this building for more than a year.

Most of the text and video materials of the memorial hall are in the front building, and the room has a large number of text materials and photos that introduce Mr. Cao Yu's family background and his life in his infancy and youth. The back building is dominated by furniture objects,

Do you know where Mr. Cao Yu lived in his childhood? Come and see with me

There are nearly a hundred pieces of furniture and objects.

Mr. Cao Yu's ancestral home is Qianjiang, Hubei Province, formerly known as Wan Jiabao (nickname Tianjia), his father Wan Dezun, after returning from studying in Japan at the end of the Qing Dynasty, was deeply appreciated by Duan Fang, the governor of the Qing Dynasty, and was entrusted with the post of Biaotong, and was later favored by the President of the Republic of China, Li Yuanhong, as his secretary. After Li Yuanhong fell, he returned home to work as a yugong, depressed and unhappy. Mr. Cao Yu has a half-sister Wan Jiazhen's brother Wan Jiaxiu. My sister was very kind to Mr. Cao Yu, often teaching him to learn to read, and could be said to be his enlightenment teacher. The eldest brother had a very poor relationship with his father, often quarreling so much that his father broke his brother's leg and became disabled. Mr. Cao Yu's mother died of illness three days after his birth, and he was raised by his stepmother (who was also Mr. Cao Yu's aunt). Mr. Cao has formed his own bitter and introverted personality in such a repressive family atmosphere.

Through the visit, you can truly appreciate the shadow of the character image in Mr. Cao Yu's famous book "Thunderstorm" and "Sunrise". Gain a deeper understanding of the ideological connotations and enduring nature of these two classic works.
