Beijing Ququ Opera and Beijing Ququ Troupe are single-type single-genre troupes in the national professional performance groups and art varieties, and the only local opera in Beijing. The 2018 class of the Beijing Opera And Script Department of the China Academy of Performing Arts is the third undergraduate class of performance trained by the Beijing Opera Troupe in cooperation with the China Academy of Performing Arts.
The original novel, drama and many art forms express "Home" provide students with rich soil to understand the background of the times and shape the characters; the age of the characters in the play is mostly similar to the age of the students themselves, which increases their confidence in their performance. At the same time, the play starts from the early stage of creation, that is, from the graduation class as a whole, while retaining the richness of the main characters, it also takes into account the "drama" of other roles, and expands the performance space for each student to the greatest extent possible.
As the head of the acting department of the China Academy of Performing Arts, Wang Shaojun has watched the students of the opera class make little progress in the past four years. As the director of "Home", Wang Shaojun said that it is necessary to perform stories and shape characters with songs and dances, with freehand as the mainstay, realism as the supplement, lyricism as the mainstay, narrative as the supplement, adding song and dance elements on the basis of opera, integrating into the performance style of musical theater, and making audio-visual more fashionable.
How to make the Beijing opera "Home" present a different kind of feature? Stage designer Liu Peng explained his design concept: "It refuses to create a 'real' illusion direct performance, but uses symbolism to complete the 'realism'. With a combination of sloping lines, low-hanging relief components, and transparent and hard huge gray walls, we will show a deep mansion compound and work with the audience to create inner reality. ”
According to the combination of character line cavity and rap, the singing voice with rich Beijing flavor is the biggest feature of Beijing opera, and it is also an important means to shape characters. On the basis of loyalty to the characters, in order to allow students to give full play to the strengths of their respective voices, Dai Yisheng, the artistic consultant and composer of the play, personally accompanied the piano and listened to each student singing before creation, recorded their vocal range, and composed music for them. Art director Lu Xuewen participated in the rehearsal throughout the rehearsal, teaching more than 30 years of performance skills and stage experience.
In this way, with the tacit cooperation of the band, choreography, lighting, and costumes, a "Home" with Beijing rhyme and poetic beauty is about to kick off.
