Beijing, December 14 (China News Network) -- On the evening of the 14th, the newly created Beijing opera "Home" premiered at the Daxing Theater. The play is based on Mr. Cao Yu's drama of the same name, and is a graduation drama of the Beijing Opera Script Class of the 2018 Acting Department of the China Academy of Performing Arts.
Beijing Opera and Beijing Ququ Troupe are single-genre single-genre troupes in the national professional performance groups and art varieties, and the only local opera in Beijing, and their singleness makes the cultivation of performing talents the top priority of the theater troupe. The 2018 Beijing Ququ Script Class of the Performing Arts Department of the China Academy of Performing Arts is the third undergraduate class of beijing opera troupe and the China Academy of Performing Arts to cooperate in running schools and cultivating the whole system. The troupe carefully selected and planned their graduation dramas, and finally chose Mr. Cao Yu's classic masterpiece "Home" for adaptation.
The original novel, drama and many art forms expressed "Home" provides a rich soil for students to understand the background of the times and shape the characters, the play from the early stage of creation, that is, from the graduation class as a whole, while retaining the richness of the main characters, taking into account the "drama" of other roles, to the greatest extent possible for each student to expand the performance space.
The main creator of the play specially invited To compose outstanding plays such as "Tea House", "Zhenghong Flag", "Four Generations Together", "Beijinger" and other outstanding plays for Beijing opera, and Wang Xinji, a national first-class screenwriter; Wang Shaojun, director of the performance department of the China Academy of Opera, who accompanied the graduating class to study and grow up for four years; Dai Yisheng, a meritorious composer of Beijing opera and a national first-class composer; at the same time, the troupe also specially invited Lu Xuewen, the bishop teacher of the graduating class and a national first-class actor, as the artistic director of the play to escort the students.
The singing voice according to the character line, the combination of rap and the rich Beijing flavor are the biggest features of Beijing opera, and it is also an important means to shape the characters. On the basis of loyalty to the character, in order for the students to give full play to the strengths of their respective voices, Dai Yisheng, the artistic adviser and composer of the play, personally accompanied the piano before creation, listened to each student singing, recorded their vocal range, and composed music for them. Art director Lu Xuewen participated in the rehearsal throughout the rehearsal, teaching more than 30 years of performance skills and stage experience.
Talking about the creation of the play, Wang Shaojun said that he intends to fully display the characteristics of Beijing opera, excavate the presentation of key scenes; perform stories and shape characters with songs and dances, with freehand, realism as a supplement, lyricism as the mainstay, narrative as a supplement, adding song and dance elements on the basis of opera, integrating the performance style of musical theater, and making audio-visual more fashionable.
Liu Peng, a stage designer, said, "The starting point of the stage design of the play is the dialogueability of the symbolic space - using the symbolist truth to complete the "realism". Using a combination of sloping lines, low-hanging relief components, and transparent and hard huge gray walls to show a deep mansion compound, refusing to create a "real" illusion to directly give to the audience, but placing realism in symbolism, using symbolism to interpret the attitude to the stage space.
