When the customs officer of Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport supervised the inbound express mail, he found that there was an abnormality in the machine inspection image of a package. After opening the box for inspection, the customs officer seized one suspected tortoiseshell folding fan in a cardboard tube. After the appraisal of the authoritative department, it was determined that the above-mentioned folding fan was a tortoiseshell product. The hawksbill turtle is a national first-class protected animal and belongs to the species listed in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). At present, the customs has handed over the above-mentioned items to the relevant departments for further disposal.
