The "2023 Mid-Autumn Festival National Day Food Consumption Trend Report" released by Dingtone Grocery reveals the food trend of this holiday: if there are also popular colors in the food world, the double holiday is "golden".
The hairy crabs from Yangcheng Lake, which were the latest to start fishing, were released on September 25, gathering with the hairy crabs from the Yellow River Estuary, the snow crabs in Xinjiang's Tianshan Mountains and the Qingshui crabs from Hongze Lake and other production areas that had been on the shelves to "add vegetables" to consumers' Mid-Autumn Festival reunions. According to big data estimates, more than 600,000 hairy crabs will be put on the table by Dingdong vegetable users during the eight-day holiday.
The golden and fragrant osmanthus is a popular autumn flavor. Since September, the search volume of "osmanthus" on the Dingtone grocery shopping app has increased by 280% compared with the previous month. Traditional dim sum such as osmanthus wine cake, osmanthus wine cheesecake, Cai Changqing osmanthus wine rice cake, osmanthus wine fresh milk rice balls, osmanthus sparkling rice wine, osmanthus craft beer and other drinks are popular osmanthus flavored food.
Autumn is also a good harvest season for domestic fruits. Fujian's Guanxi honey pomelo, sandwich honey orange, Shaanxi persimmon and golden kiwi and other domestic landmark fruits ushered in a peak in sales. According to the person in charge of fruit product development at Dingtone, oranges and grapefruit have always been popular fruits during the "November" holiday, with sales of tens of thousands of pieces per day in previous years, and it is predicted that this year's sales will reach 1.2 million and 300,000 respectively.
On the eve of the National Day holiday, Dingtone Grocery officially opened the 2023 hot pot season, launching hundreds of products such as pot bottoms, shabu platters, and soul dipping sauces to meet consumers' needs for one-stop purchase of ingredients. Sales of 100,000 pot bases are expected for the entire holiday, up 33.3% from the same period last year.
Interestingly, due to the increase in outdoor activities by holiday users, the destination of some hot pot orders will be shifted from home addresses to outdoor places such as parks and campsites. During the double festival, the ratio of hot pot orders in outdoor places to residential areas may be close to 1:19. In other words, 1 of the 20 hot pots sold by Dingtone will be enjoyed outdoors.
This year's new hot pot products launched by Dingtone also include several "one-person food" hot pot sets, mainly using a mixture of soup base + a variety of small ingredients, and it is expected that the week-on-week sales growth will reach 220% during the holiday. During the double festival, whether it is a family reunion family gathering, a camping gathering of three or two friends, or even a night when you brush your mouth alone, you can find your favorite hot pot ingredients in Dingdong grocery shopping, and realize multiple "hot pot freedom" in time, space and number of people.
