According to the Horqin National Nature Reserve Management Bureau, unlike in the past, this year's reserve has more rare "friends". In the process of monitoring migratory waterbirds in autumn, monitorers found the figures of national Level I protected birds such as white cranes, oriental white storks, and white-naped cranes in the wetlands. They either gaze quietly, or play and play, or look down to forage, leisurely and self-reliant, adding a sense of vitality and vitality to the colorful autumn.

According to reports, since mid-September, the Horqin National Nature Reserve Management Bureau has carried out autumn monitoring of migratory waterbirds, covering the core area of the reserve, important wetlands and important bird migration, breeding and resting places in the surrounding areas. Up to now, a total of nearly 10,000 migratory birds of 30 species have been monitored. Among them, there are 4 species of birds protected by the national level I, namely the white crane, the oriental white stork, the red-crowned crane and the white-naped crane; the national level II protected birds include the grey crane, the white spoonbilon, the little swan and the red goose. Among the nearly 10,000 migratory birds, there are 35 white cranes, 42 eastern white storks, 5 red-crowned cranes and 14 white-naped cranes. Both the White Crane and the Eastern White Stork have individual populations of 1% of the global population.

Cranes are extremely demanding on the living environment, and are regarded as a sign of the quality of the wetland environment, and are one of the indicator species of wetland environmental quality. The number of cranes in the Horqin National Nature Reserve has increased year by year, which also marks a significant improvement in the environmental quality of the wetlands in the reserve.
