Answer: The DPP authorities' attempt to use the so-called "transit" of the United States to seek official contacts between the United States and Taiwan and to seek opportunities to manipulate "independence" is a consistent trick of their "relying on the United States for independence." No matter what name or tricks they play, they cannot change the fact that there is only one China in the world and that Taiwan is a part of China. We firmly oppose any form of official exchanges between the United States and the Taiwan region. We urge the US side to abide by the one-China principle and the stipulations of the three Sino-US joint communiques and not to send the wrong signal to the "Taiwan independence" forces. Supporting Taiwan and seeking "independence" will only further damage peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and will only lead to the consequences of playing with fire and self-immolation.
