International Midwives Day is celebrated annually on 5 May, a festival established to promote and develop the midwifery profession and to celebrate and pass on the contributions of midwives in the field of health care.
If every coming of life is a magical and great journey, then the midwife is called the ferryman of life.
They shuttle between the delivery room and the delivery room every day, listening to the fetal heartbeat, guarding the contractions, measuring signs, taking care of the pregnant woman's diet and urinating, they will not be "baptized" by amniotic fluid, dirty clothes by blood, stimulated by the mother's urination to smell and stop, they will give psychological counseling, professional explanation and companionship and comfort when pregnant women are most painful and irritable, and they guard day and night to hear the first loud cry of the new life.
"God could not give love to the world himself, so he created angels", believing that every midwife is a cute little angel, watching over the blossoms of life and holding up hope for the future.
You ask them if they are "tired or not", they only say "countless mornings, the symphony played by the fetal heart monitor reassures us, countless nights, the loud baby cries in the night sky make us happy, watching the baby lying safely and contented in the arms of the mother, we are so warm and touched." ”
They have lost count of how many times they have not been able to return home on time after work, and how many times they have not been able to eat on time to protect the mother. "For mothers and newborns, maybe we're just passers-by in their lives, but they're all about our work." This sentence gives too much meaning to the position of midwife, and a thousand words gathered into a thank you may be the best encouragement and motivation for them.
Someone once said that "the person who opens the curtain of life is a nurse, and the person who pulls the curtain of life is also a nurse", I would like to say that in the hospital, there are not only doctors, nurses, but also midwives. It's a sacred but little-known profession, but there's always been a group of lovely people waiting silently for the continuation of life, starting the journey of life for one life after another!
