Neither a nurse nor a doctor

Natural childbirth, which seems to be ripe and natural, actually contains many abnormally dangerous and unpredictable "sudden" situations that occur from time to time. In this delivery room, the first stop to welcome a new life, the midwife is the first person to hold up the new life.

"Our role is neither a nurse nor a doctor." Cheng Jinhuan said that midwives must have 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in obstetrics, and then obtain relevant qualifications after rigorous systematic professional study before they can be employed.

From admission to delivery to discharge, midwives are involved. In the maternity ward, midwives should do a good job of prenatal examination and assessment. When a woman gives birth, the midwife monitors the condition of the mother's fetus while also cheering the woman up. In addition to abnormal conditions that require doctor intervention, most women who give birth naturally are controlled by midwives throughout the process.

From pregnancy preparation, conception, childbirth to postpartum, midwives have only one common purpose, which is to ensure the safety of mothers and babies. Cheng Jinhuan said that midwives must have professional knowledge and skillful operation skills, familiar with the changes in the progress of each woman's labor process, and deal with various situations of sudden labor changes. In addition to being able to provide childbirth-related services skillfully, midwives are also ideal professionals to provide women with continuous obstetric services.

"We will also continue to learn new knowledge, improve our professional and technical level, and provide more professional and thoughtful services for pregnant women." Sung Kim-hwan said.

Hold relevant activities to deliver correct pregnancy care

It is understood that the qingyuan people's hospital set up a midwifery clinic in 2012, the original intention is to alleviate the psychological anxiety of expectant mothers, pass on the correct pregnancy health care, childbirth related knowledge and skills, and formulate a sound birth plan to help them successfully complete natural vaginal delivery with a positive attitude.

"Every year on the occasion of International Midwifery Day, the obstetrics department holds related activities." Cheng Jinhuan introduced that through the May Day holiday, the Obstetrics Department of Qingyuan People's Hospital held a pregnancy yoga activity for midwives and expectant mothers to learn together on May 4, hoping to help pregnant mothers relax their mood and enhance their physical strength through professional and vivid yoga classes, which will help pregnant women maintain a peaceful attitude before giving birth and promote natural childbirth. Pregnant women who participated in the event said that they felt the unique relaxation and stress reduction brought by yoga during pregnancy to the body and mind.

Cheng Jinhuan said that many pregnant women have different degrees of self-confidence in vaginal delivery because of the lack of cognition related to childbirth and the fear of unknown birth pain, which affects the choice of production method. Therefore, the hospital has always advocated natural childbirth, and if it does not meet the indications for caesarean section surgery, it is recommended that pregnant mothers choose natural delivery.

In recent years, with the continuous extension of the service content of midwives, the daily work of midwives not only goes out of the delivery room and "faces" with pregnant mothers, but also extends the service to the postpartum rehabilitation stage, so that pregnant women feel full humanistic care from pregnancy to postpartum.

Pregnant mothers sit and lie down

Many women will experience various discomforts in their bodies after pregnancy, especially with the increase of the pregnancy cycle, which will be more obvious. According to statistics, more than half of pregnant women suffer from different degrees of low back pain during pregnancy, and low back pain will still exist after childbirth. During pregnancy, some pregnant mothers do not care about their sitting and lying postures, which is one of the causes of problems such as waist pain.

Cheng Jinhuan introduced that common bad sitting postures include bending over and hunched over, sitting on the armrest, stilted legs, "Ge You paralysis", etc., such sitting postures can easily lead to the lateral tilt of the pelvis and the lateral bending of the lumbar spine, which is easy to cause waist pain, and will also have a certain impact on the normal position of the fetus.

During pregnancy, it is necessary to master two basic principles: one is not to sit on a low chair stool, so as not to compress the abdomen and cause discomfort; the other is to avoid sitting for a long time, pregnant women have high abdominal pressure, relatively poor blood circulation in the lower limbs, and sitting for a long time will cause ankle swelling and varicose veins in the lower legs and even blood clots in the lower limbs.

Pregnant mothers at work should choose a chair with a backrest, sit back as much as possible, so that their spine is at a 90° right angle to the seat; that is, the thighs are in the maximum contact with the chair surface, the knees and hips should be at the same level, and the back is supported by a cushion on the back of the chair.

When sitting on the sofa or bed, in order to prevent back pain, it is best to cushion a pillow on the back, so that the upper body is slightly leaned back to reduce abdominal pressure.

In order to prevent abdominal pressure, try not to stomp on the legs of the two legs when sitting, do not raise the thighs higher than the stomach, and do not cross the two feet. Most importantly, sit for a while to get up and move around to promote blood circulation in the lower limbs, or to stand in place and relax the whole body.

Cheng Jinhuan introduced that the changes in the body of pregnant women in the first trimester are not so obvious, and there is no need to change the posture specially, how to lie down as comfortable as possible. With the increase in the number of pregnancy months, in the second trimester, pregnant women are prone to feel back pain, at this time should lie on their sides to sleep.

"Many pregnant women have heard that the best sleeping position in the third trimester is to sleep on the left side, so they insist on a sleeping position every day, but this can easily lead to scoliosis." Cheng Jinhuan said that sleeping on the left side is not a universal sleeping position, and this is not absolutely only lying on the left side. Because our heart is on the left side, lying on the left side for a long time will also cause the heart to be compressed.

She suggested that when sleeping, there is no need to fix a certain position (left side or right side), pregnant women need to ensure the comfort of their body, the left side of the tired to change to the right side, the right side of the bed is the best sleeping position.
