In October last year, Geely released the global power technology brand - Raytheon Power and the modular intelligent hybrid platform - Leishen Intelligence Hi-X in Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo, officially announcing the arrival of the new hybrid system.
In the early publicity warm-up of the Thor Hi-X hybrid system, the slogan of "God-level hybrid" has attracted widespread attention and heated discussion, and the most asked question is nothing more than how god is this hybrid system? How does the power perform? What about the fuel saving effect?
After the first model equipped with this hybrid system, the Hoshigoku L Raytheon Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version, we can finally tell you the answer with actual measurements.

What is "Thor Hi-X Hybrid"?
First, let's briefly review the basic information of the Thor Hi-X hybrid system.
Geely Ray's Hi-X hybrid special platform includes a 1.5TD/2.0TD hybrid special engine, as well as a DHT (1-speed transmission)/DHT Pro (3-speed transmission) hybrid special transmission, supporting full coverage of A0-C class models, and covering HEV (strong hybrid), PHEV (plug-in hybrid), REEV (extended range hybrid) and other hybrid technologies.
The hybrid system equipped with the Hoshikoshi L is a HEV (strong hybrid) system, that is, it does not need to be charged and cannot be charged. It uses a 1.5TD hybrid special engine and a DHT Pro (3-speed transmission) hybrid special transmission in power, with a thermal efficiency of up to 43.32%, a maximum power of 110 kW, a maximum torque of 225 N·m, a maximum power of 110 kW for the drive motor, and a maximum torque of 320 N·m.
In terms of the working mode of the hybrid system, this set of Hi· X hybrid system normal start and low speed using EV pure electric mode, by the P2 drive motor to drive the wheels, the engine does not start or only drive the P1 generator to generate electricity; when it is necessary to start quickly, the 3-speed DHT Pro through the clutch sliding, matching the 1st gear large speed ratio, to achieve catapult start, starting acceleration capacity increased by 50%; when the speed exceeds 20km/h, the system can enter parallel mode, the engine and P2 drive motor can drive the wheel at the same time, the system efficiency increased by 20%; 80 ~ 120km/h At high speed re-acceleration, the system can release 60% of the reserve power to achieve high-speed and rapid overtaking.
Through the close cooperation between the high-efficiency engine and the motor, the Hoshigoshi L Raytheon Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version of the data in terms of power performance and fuel economy are quite beautiful, the official 0-100km/h acceleration score is 7.9s, and the comprehensive fuel consumption of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology NEDC is 4.3L/100km.

How fuel-efficient is it?
In order to confirm the true fuel consumption performance of the Hoshigoku L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version, we conducted an urban fuel consumption test. Our fixed test route starts from the gas station in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, passes through Yuexiu Financial Building, China Plaza, CUHK Subway Station, Olympic Sports Center, and finally returns to the gas station, a total distance of about 55km.
The test method is to use the same oil gun, and the fuel tank is filled before and after the test to obtain the actual fuel consumption. The test was conducted during peak hour on Thursday, April 14, when the outdoor temperature was around 29°C. During the test, Hoshigoshi L maintained the air conditioner at 22 °C and 2 grid wind throughout the process, and the driving mode used "smart mode" and the kinetic energy recovery was adjusted to "high".
In the end, after 2 hours and 16 minutes, we ran the whole course, the average speed was 24km/h, and the apparent fuel consumption of the Hoshigoku L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version was 5.9L/100km, the actual refueling volume was 3.40L, and the actual fuel consumption was 6.18L/100km. Running in the evening peak of moderate congestion should be quite fuel-efficient for a large compact SUV with a length of more than 4 meters 7 and a weight of nearly 1.8 tons.
Not only that, through the apparent change in fuel consumption, we can find that in different degrees of congestion, the fuel consumption of the Star-Over L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version will not have a particularly large fluctuation, in other words, it is quite fuel-efficient in various speed segments.
The first half of the test is relatively blocked, when reaching the first punch point Yuexiu Financial Building, the average speed is only 19km/h, at this time the apparent fuel consumption of the table is 5.9L/100km, when the second and third punch points are reached, the average speed is only 18km/h, and the apparent fuel consumption fluctuates at about 6.6L/100km at this time. Subsequently, the road conditions began to flow smoothly, the average speed slowly rose to 24km/h, and finally the apparent fuel consumption slowly decreased back to 5.9L/100km.
This is obviously different from the soaring fuel consumption of ordinary fuel vehicles and the rapid decline in fuel consumption after smoothing. Because this hybrid system mainly uses motor drive during congestion, the engine can always drive the generator in the most efficient operating range, so the efficiency loss of the engine in the low-speed state is greatly reduced.
When the speed exceeds 50km/h, the Hoshigotsu L Raytheon Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version can use the engine direct drive, at this time the engine directly drives the wheels in the high-efficiency speed range, and the excess energy is stored in the battery through the P2 drive motor anti-drag power generation, reducing the energy loss caused by power generation. In addition, the Hoshigoku L Raytheon Hi-X Oil-Electric Hybrid Edition also has a kinetic energy recovery system that can reduce the energy loss caused by braking. Better hardware capabilities coupled with a reasonable driving strategy, and finally achieved a good fuel saving effect.

How does the power perform?
Throwing away the weight and power performance of the car to talk about fuel consumption, are playing hooligans.
So, what about the power performance of the Hoshikoshi L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version?
After our test, in the climatic conditions of about 25 ° C, turn off the ESP, use the catapult to start, The Star Yue L Raytheon Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version 0-100km/h measured best score of 8.19s, which is basically close to the official 7.9s. Considering that the vehicle is full of oil at the time of the test, the temperature is slightly higher, if the amount of oil and the temperature are lower, it should be no problem to run out of the official results.
In different power states, the Star-Over L Thor Hi-X Hybrid Version uses ejection to start in a different state. When the battery is high, the ejection starts, the front wheels will break through the grip, accompanied by a harsh sound, and the tires will scratch the ground and drag the car forward. When the battery is low, the performance is relatively flat, the front wheel cannot break through the grip, and the starting drag force is not so strong. However, the score of multiple zero hundred tests is within 9s, and the acceleration ability of the latter period does not change much.
From the acceleration curve, we can see that the Star-Over L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version has a relatively average acceleration ability after 80km/h, and there is also an obvious shift action when approaching 100km/h.
In the daily driving process, you can feel that the Hoshigoku L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version before 50km/h, mainly using pure electric drive, the power is relatively light, heel and abundant, driving experience and pure electric vehicles are basically the same.
At about 50km/h, there will also be a similar shift action, switching to the engine direct drive, at which time the power feeling returns to the state of the fuel vehicle. In addition to the case of large power requests such as ejection start or sharp acceleration, the Hoshigoku L Raytheon Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version rarely uses the "parallel mode" of the engine and electric motor to drive the wheels together.
In addition, the Hoshigoku L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version does a good job that the sound and jitter of the engine are better suppressed no matter what mode of operation. During driving, it is difficult to distinguish whether the engine is started by the jitter or sound in the car, and the NVH of the powertrain performs quite well.
In terms of braking ability, the performance of the Hoshikoshi L Thor Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version can definitely be described as excellent. The measured 100km/h-0 brake stop best performance is 35.19m, the entire braking process can be maintained at about 1g, the braking force is very sufficient, abs the feeling of the foot is not strong. Moreover, after 5 consecutive tests, the brake attenuation is not obvious, and the braking distance can be maintained within 40m.
However, in terms of the braking foot feeling of daily driving, the Hoshigoku L Raytheon Hi-X oil-electric hybrid version still has room for optimization, and the connection between kinetic energy recovery and mechanical brakes is not natural enough. Geely's hybrid system supports OTA remote online upgrades, and it is hoped that this problem can also be improved through OTAs.
In today's high oil prices, buying a fuel-efficient car has become a necessity for many people. In the past, we never equated our own brand with fuel economy, but now, the old stereotype needs to change.
