In October 2017, Changan Automobile released its new energy strategy "Shangri-La Plan" in Beijing, proposing to completely stop selling traditional fuel vehicles by 2025 and realize the electrification of all products.
Zhu Huarong, then president of Changan Automobile, explained at the end of the press conference that Changan Automobile only stopped selling traditional fuel vehicles, not completely abandoning the internal combustion engine.
The so-called traditional fuel vehicle refers to a car that relies purely on gasoline and diesel to drive the internal combustion engine through combustion. Vehicle electrification, on the other hand, means that all vehicles have batteries, including pure electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV), and pure hybrid vehicles (HEVs).
