On April 2, the "Paint Like a Song - Hu Guohong Lacquer Paintings and Oil Paintings Exhibition" opened at the Chen Shuren Memorial Hall, exhibiting a total of 35 lacquer paintings and oil paintings created by Hu Guohong, including works that have been selected for important exhibitions in Guangdong Province and won awards, until April 11.

Hu Guohong, who is a member of the Guangdong Artists Association and the Guangzhou Artists Association, is currently a member of the Guangdong Artists Association. His lacquer painting "Vase Flower" has won the "Third Guangdong Province Lacquer Painting Exhibition" Excellence Award, and the oil painting "Eve of the Festival" was selected into the "Guangdong Province Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China Fine Arts Exhibition".
At the opening ceremony symposium, many experts spoke highly of Hu Guohong's works. Li Xingtao, a researcher at the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the Central Museum of Culture and History and executive director of the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of the Municipal People's History Museum, said that watching Hu Guohong's lacquer paintings on the spot was more shocking than the photos. The lacquer painting process is complex and the investment is large, and it is very rare for Hu Guohong to be able to study lacquer painting for decades.
Liang Peilong, honorary chairman of the Yuexiu District Artists Association, pointed out that Hu Guohong's lacquer paintings attract the attention of the audience more than the Chinese paintings and oil paintings known to the public, their colors are calm and unified, and the composition and contrast effect are excellent, hoping to maintain this advantage and create better works.
Liang Xiaozhen, a member of the Lacquer Painting Art Committee of the Professional Education Committee of the China Education Association and a member of the China Artists Association, also believes that Hu Guohong has a good integration of the advantages of oil painting and lacquer painting, and his lacquer painting works have the charm of oil painting, but they do not blindly imitate oil painting, and they are one of the few painters who have successfully transformed from oil painting to lacquer painting.
