Feifan Automobile may not be familiar to many friends, Feifan is actually R Car, which is a pure electronic brand under SAIC Motor. Feifan Automobile currently has three models: ER6, MARVRL R, R7 (reservation), of which ER6 is the cheapest product. We have already tested THE ICT-300 on MARVRL R, this time we will take a look at how the ER6 in the 150,000-200,000 range performs.

Smart driving section
The Feifan ER6 scored 49 points in the intelligent driving segment, ranking 46th in the intelligent driving list. Obviously, this result is not very impressive. But the ER6 is a relatively basic product of Feifan Automobile, and its model also has a certain period of time, so we are not surprised to get such a performance.

Sensor configuration
In terms of hardware, ER6 is equipped with AI Pilot intelligent driver assistance system and ALL-TIME SAFETY full-time active safety assistance system, equipped with 3 millimeter wave radar, 6 cameras, 4 ultrasonic radar, from the hardware point of view is relatively simple, the function is the conventional L2 level driving assistance performance, support adaptive cruise, lane keeping, traffic congestion assistance, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, reverse rear blind spot detection and other functions. And these two sets of systems are only available in the top model, and the rest of the models need to spend 7,000 optional upgrade intelligent driving growth packages to have.

Upgrade capabilities
ER6 supports the OTA upgrade of the vehicle-machine system, while the vehicle upgrade official does not specify support. In fact, the ER6 is a model for a certain period of time, and it is improved on the basis of the Roewe i6. The i6 is the model launched by Roewe in early 2017, and the ER6 is launched in August 2020, considering the background of the model, the OTA that does not support the whole vehicle is also being cleaned up.

Test conditions: The test vehicle opens all driving assistance functions at a speed of 30km/h to test whether there will be warnings or avoidance actions when the vehicle encounters the pile bucket group.

Pedestrian scene recognition and avoidance
The above three items are tests of the driving assistance function of the vehicle, and as a smart car, in addition to helping the driver "drive", it must also help the driver avoid possible traffic accidents. So next we will conduct an obstacle avoidance test on the Feifan ER6, that is, we will find some dummies and fake cars to come out and see if the ER6 can brake the avoidance in time.
Fixed dummy identification and avoidance
Test conditions: a child dummy is fixed in the middle of the zebra crossing, the test car starts the adaptive cruise at a speed of 50km/h and all the driving assistance functions pass to see if the test car can stop in time in front of the dummy.
Mobile dummy identification and avoidance
Test conditions: An adult dummy will pass the zebra crossing at a speed of 5km/h, and then the test car will turn on the adaptive cruise at a speed of 40km/h and all the driving assistance functions will pass to see if the test car can stop in time in front of the dummy.
Mobile dummy ghost probe identification and evasion
Test conditions: The child dummy crosses the zebra crossing at a speed of 5km/h, and the test vehicle starts cruising at 40km/h and passes all driving assistance functions. Unlike the mobile dummy crossing test, the ghost probe will add a fixed obstacle car to the front side of the zebra crossing, which will form an emergency situation of "ghost probe" when the test vehicle is close to the zebra crossing.
Tunnel fixed obstacle vehicle identification and avoidance
Test conditions: In the simulated tunnel, there is a fixed target vehicle model, the test vehicle starts the cruise at a speed of 50knm/h and all driving assistance functions are close to see if the final test vehicle can avoid the target vehicle. The project of the tunnel fixed target vehicle is actually a simulation of the situation that when entering the tunnel during daily driving, there is a sudden stop in the tunnel. In this case, because the driver has a large contrast in light inside and outside the tunnel, there is a high probability that the car stopped in the tunnel will not be found in time, which will eventually lead to a rear-end accident. If the vehicle's driver assistance system can avoid this type of obstacle car, it will give the occupants an extra guarantee.

Test conditions: The target vehicle will be more urgent at a speed of 20km/h, while the test vehicle will cruise at a speed of 50km/h.

Automatic parking
It is a pity that the entire ER6 series does not support the automatic parking function. Because the automatic parking performance is still very good on the Feifan MARVEL R that we tested before, it uses a visual fusion scheme, so the efficiency and accuracy of the entire parking process are high.

Open road testing
When testing driver assistance on the open road, the ER6 activates both adaptive cruise and lane keeping by cruising the lever and dialing it up twice. At the time of the field test, the center of the lane was not very good, but at high speed it returned to normal, being able to keep the body in the middle of the lane. However, the steering wheel is not sensitive to the sensitivity of the opponent, sometimes it takes a few times to "twist" the steering wheel to perceive the hand support on it, at the same time, the driver assistance system has a very short time to help the hand, about 10 seconds or so did not detect that there is a hand support will be prompted. Therefore, the model with the driver assistance function may be better with the overall use of the capacitive induction steering wheel.
In terms of the performance of the car, the er6 identification of the parallel vehicle is more traditional, and it is necessary to wait for the other party's body to fully enter the lane before recognizing the deceleration. Adaptive cruise can also keep working when the car is congested, but even if the distance is adjusted to 1st gear, it will leave a large vacancy, which is easy to be plugged in by a third party.
The interior design of Feifan ER6 presents a strong new energy technology style, and large-screen interaction has become its main highlight, but at the same time, many physical buttons have been retained on the central control, and the anti-human route of full touch has not been taken. The 14.3-inch 2.5D curved LCD touch screen of the central control core is equipped with the Zebra Zhixing Venus system based on AliOS, which has a simple UI interface, good operation fluency, and great functionality, supporting AI intelligent voice interaction, IoT mobile phone remote car control and other functions.

Conventional online navigation, online video, voice control, panoramic images, life services, etc. These are not a problem, in addition, it can also obtain express delivery, flights, constellations and other information through many third-party mini programs, and also support multi-scenario mode, car-home interconnection and other functions, intelligent at the same time also brings a certain emotional temperature.

Extensibility of in-vehicle systems
The extensibility of the on-board system is reflected in two aspects, one is the expansion of app application stores, and the other is the expansion of mobile phone interconnection.
ER6 This car system does not support application stores, but as mentioned earlier, ER6 provides a small program collection page, which provides many third-party applications, which is not fundamentally different from the application store. However, these third-party applications provided by the system are fixed and do not support online search, and perhaps more useful or interesting applications can continue to be added through OTAs in the future.
As for the mobile phone interconnection mapping, Feifan ER6, like most independent brand models, does not support Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife, because the car itself is functional enough, there is no mobile phone mapping function. However, it is indeed a small regret for users who are accustomed to Apple CarPlay.

Voice interaction
Voice interaction is an important part of the degree of cockpit intelligence, and its semantic recognition ability, reaction speed, pickup accuracy, control authority, etc. all determine whether the whole system is intelligent enough. Feifan ER6 is equipped with AI intelligent active interactive voice system, which supports up to 90 seconds of continuous dialogue, no wake-up, contextual understanding, partition pickup and other capabilities.
The voice system of Feifan ER6 has more controllable functions, and it can basically do not move during the driving process. The recognition speed and reaction speed of the speech system are also very fast, but there are requirements for the coherence of the speech order input, and the pause in speech is easy to cause incomplete recognition. Although the system supports up to 90 seconds of continuous dialogue, it often automatically exits after prompting "Can't hear clearly, please say it again", and needs to be reawakened, which affects the interaction experience.
In terms of error correction ability, Feifan ER6 performed relatively poorly, and the three non-standard pronunciation orders could not be understood and corrected, let alone perform functions. Although the zebra zhixing system's car machine system often uses voice interaction as a major publicity point, its speech recognition rate for fuzzy pronunciation does need to be optimized.
In terms of semantic comprehension ability, for the fuzzy language of the air conditioning class, ER6 can correctly recognize your intention, and for the dual language of the navigation class, it can also identify and search for the place, but the language needs to directly hit the word "navigation", which is still not very smart compared with other brands of speech systems. For the most difficult cross-functional compound language order, it is not executable like most other brand models.

Intelligent advanced functions
After looking at the surface texture and internal functions of the car machine, we put forward higher level requirements for the smart cockpit, involving some functions that are more in-depth with the car life, such as remote control of the vehicle, personalized memory, online updates and interesting small functions.
Through the small program in the system, you can play fun mini-games such as idiom solitaire, which adds a little fun to the cockpit, and the car machine also supports online OTA, and the function will continue to increase in the future.
ER6 also supports IoT mobile phone remote control, after binding through the mobile phone, you can remotely control the vehicle's door locks, air conditioning and other functions, but does not support remote parking, look forward to the follow-up OTA can increase this function, encounter narrow parking spaces more convenient.
