As a high-end brand of Chery, Xingtu also recently brought the Star Core Power ET-i all-engine supermix platform, and its first model, the Wind Chasing ET-i, was officially launched recently, attacking the 150,000-level hybrid SUV market.
However, in the face of many hybrid models on the market, can Starway Wind Chase ET-i, as a latecomer, win back a round in strength? Shortly after the new car was launched, Qi Panjun also conducted a test drive on the Star Trail ET-i for the first time.
Easily solve the three major anxieties of consumers
As a plug-in hybrid SUV, the Starway Wind Chasing ET-i technically adopts a different hybrid route from other brands, and this hybrid technology can solve consumers' anxieties about power, endurance and fuel consumption.
From the name of this system "full engine super mix", it can be seen that the Star Path Wind Chasing ET-i emphasizes the full engine power. Therefore, the first advantage of the wind chasing ET-i is that it is powerful.
The Hybrid System of Star Wind Chasing ET-i consists of a 1.5T four-cylinder turbocharged engine + dual motors. However, those "engine + dual motor" models on the market have only one motor involved in the drive, while the two motors of the Starway Wind Chasing ET-i can participate in the drive.

This 1.5T hybrid special engine has a maximum power of 115 kW and a maximum torque of 230 Nm. It can be said that even in the case of the motor not participating in the work, such a power level is enough to bring more powerful power. What's more, the Star Chasing Wind ET-i also has two motors.
Under the joint power of the engine and the dual motors, the comprehensive maximum power of the Xingtu Wind Chasing ET-i has reached 240kW, the combined maximum torque is as high as 510Nm, and the zero hundred acceleration time is only 6.8 seconds. This is undoubtedly the advantage of the Starway Wind Chasing ET-i over other hybrid models.
Horses run fast and often have to eat more. However, this does not apply here at ET-i. Because, since you want to come out and "mix", if you can't save fuel, how can you "mix" the wind and water?
Therefore, another major advantage of wind chasing ET-i is energy saving.
The essence of energy saving is actually efficiency, and furthermore, it is the logic of how to achieve the best efficiency of the hybrid system.
We all know that for hybrid models, it is inevitable that it needs to use oil to generate electricity. Therefore, whether the engine can remain in the efficient working range for a longer period of time determines the final fuel consumption level of a hybrid vehicle.
For the previous hybrid models, under the working conditions of low and medium speeds, the vehicle is often able to achieve lower fuel consumption. Once on high speed, they tend to be more fuel-intensive than pure-fuel vehicles.
To solve this problem, the wind chasing ET-i's 3-speed DHT transmission came in handy.

In addition, thanks to the "three-engine" drive and the unique 3-speed DHT transmission, the wind-chasing ET-i engine, dual motors and 3-speed DHT transmission can be combined at will.
Finally, the wind chasing ET-i has up to 9 driving modes such as single motor, dual motor, single motor + engine, and dual motor + engine. In other words, the system is better able to achieve the maximum efficiency of the engine, so as to achieve more energy savings.

In this test drive, we drove from Chengdu city to a punching point in Dujiangyan, about 100 kilometers, the meter fuel consumption was 4L/100km, and the meter power consumption was 6kWh/100km, which was converted into about 3 mao more than one kilometer.
It can be said that in almost all high-speed conditions, such a performance has been quite outstanding. If you only drive in the city, the final result will only be better.
In addition, the advantage of StarWay Wind Chasing ET-i is also in the long endurance.
First of all, in pure electric mode, the maximum endurance can be 105km, which can meet the daily commuting needs of users. From the perspective of the cost of using a car, this will inevitably save users a lot of money.
Secondly, in the case of full power and full fuel, the maximum endurance of ET-i can exceed 1000 kilometers, which can well meet the needs of long-distance travel of users and avoid the cumbersome of queuing up to charge and refuel on holidays.
It is not difficult to find that through the unique advantages of three-engine power and three-speed DHT transmission, Xingtu Wind Chasing ET-i has well solved the user's anxiety about power, fuel consumption and endurance from the aspect of using the car.
It's comfortable to sit up and cool to drive
It can be said that the structure of the hybrid system of star-way wind chasing ET-i is relatively complex. Of course, this is not a problem for The "Science and Engineering Man" of Xingtu, after all, it is supported by chery Group's technical accumulation over the years.
However, no matter how advanced the technology is, for consumers, whether the car looks good or not, whether it is good or not is still important.
In terms of design, the wind chasing ET-i still adopts the Xingtu family-style front face design, and the daily running lights that run through the entire front of the car highlight the avant-garde and fashionable design.
As an SUV, the Wind Chasing ET-i has a thick, towering front, with a large area of grille below, making the whole car look very solid and stable, in line with the aesthetics of Chinese consumers.
The tail design echoes the front face, and also adopts a through taillight design, and the air outlet design on the lower two sides is matched with the fixed wind wing at the top, so that the rear of the car shows a hint of movement.
It is worth mentioning that the paint color of the test drive is similar to the ideal ONE's Baby Blue, which requires 10,000 yuan for the optional, but the wind chasing ET-i does not need to be optional, and the user can choose it by himself.
In terms of interior, the interior of the wind chasing ET-i still shows the texture that high-end brands should have.
First of all, the interior is almost covered with soft and leather materials, and the details of the door panels, seats, and central controls are also sewn. Secondly, the dual 12.3-inch screen design meets the needs of the times, and in the actual experience, its resolution and functionality are considered to be superior.
In addition, the high-end model is also equipped with SONY audio, the door panel, the central control part also provides interior atmosphere lights, with an oversized panoramic sunroof, creating a certain luxurious atmosphere.
In terms of ride comfort, the rear space of the Wind Chaser ET-i performs well. Even though the body length is less than 4.6 meters, the reasonable design makes the rear still have more space. In the actual experience, with the height of 1.7 meters, the longitudinal space of the legs is still two and a half fists away.
It must be mentioned that throughout the test drive, the comfort of the wind chasing ET-i was quite outstanding. In addition to the thick seat padding, the length of the seat cushions, and the strong wrapping of the back and waist, there is also excellent chassis tuning.
The chassis of the wind chasing ET-i is described in one sentence as "soft in the middle of the rigid".
When passing through finely fragmented roads, the chassis filters well and does not feed the sense of road onto the ride. At the same time, at low speeds, the chassis is soft overall, which can improve comfort.
However, when the vehicle passes through the undulating road at a faster speed, the chassis will not make you feel that the support is insufficient, but it can quickly stabilize the body and avoid unnecessary bounces.
Another point is that NVH performs well. When the speed is maintained below 100km/h, the wind chasing ET-i is in the lead in the price point due to the solid material used in the chassis, the use of double-layer sound insulation glass and a large number of sound insulation materials.
Only during the rapid acceleration process can the sound of the engine be faintly heard in the car. It can be seen that the performance of the wind chasing ET-i on NVH has been regarded as excellent in the same level.
So, is star chasing the wind ET-i good? Is there any driving pleasure?
First of all, as a hybrid model, the body weight is heavier than that of the same level of pure fuel vehicles, so the wind chasing ET-i gives people a more stable feeling when driving. However, the accelerator pedal is lighter in the initial trimming, and driving on stop-and-go city roads does not feel bulky.
Secondly, when driving into sharp corners, the body posture is maintained relatively well, and the roll can be suppressed very well. The point is that the chassis has excellent tuning. All along, the control of Xingtu can be regarded as a very excellent domestic car.
At the same time, the body has a good following. This is most likely due to more accurate steering, tight chassis tuning and other reasons. The advantage of this is that when the vehicle needs to change lanes, the rear of the car can quickly follow the front of the car to ensure driving safety.
Plus, a powerful car is definitely more interesting than a very powerful car. Wind chasing ET-i Due to the use of "three-engine hybrid", under the joint force of the engine and two drive motors, the feeling of pushing back is very strong, which can meet the needs of some users for speed.
