This year marks Bai Yansong's tenth year as a member of the CPPCC National Committee. On March 3, Bai Yansong made an evaluation of his ten-year career in an exclusive interview with Nandu and N Video.
He said, "A good CPPCC member should be like a gentleman." Talking about the "education anxiety" derived from "post-00s" athletes such as Gu Ailing and Su Yiming during the Winter Olympics, Bai Yansong believes that anxiety may come from the difficulty of "copying" Gu Ailing, in addition, it is more important to pay attention to athletes who grew up in family backgrounds such as Xu Mengtao, seeing the efforts made by ordinary Chinese parents, not all success is "smashed" by money.
He believes that the real lessons worth learning are finding out what children are suitable for, thinking about how to give children something they love, and helping them manage their time well.

Talking about learning from "Gu Ailing Education"
Children should be groomed to be better selves
Nandu: During the Winter Olympics, many educational topics were discussed by athletes such as Gu Ailing and Su Yiming, and some people were studying what kind of elite education can cultivate "perfect" children, and there was also "Gu Ailing anxiety".
Bai Yansong: At this Winter Olympics, the "veterans" represented by Xu Mengtao and the "new sharps" represented by Gu Ailing and Su Yiming are particularly valuable.
But to tell you the truth, two days before Xu Mengtao's competition, I expressed on the show that I was a fan of hers. The reason is that after the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, I have been paying attention to how she fell and how to stand up, so when she won the championship, our colleagues all joked that "Xu Mengtao won the championship, Bai Yansong fulfilled her dream".
When I was doing the show, I was asked what wishes I had as a fan after Xu Mengtao won the championship, and I replied that I would like to go to her hometown in Liaoning, eat a barbecue at the barbecue restaurant run by her parents, it is best to have a small drink with her father, and then talk to the old two, which may be something that can make me particularly happy.
Because from such a family, Xu Mengtao is more like our neighbor, taking an ordinary path. Of course, we can't represent the right path because Xu Mengtao is now successful, and players like Jia Zongyang who won silver medals are also great, and many players who participate in the Winter Olympics are also great, and they are all improving.
Speaking of the educational "anxiety" caused by Gu Ailing, I think the anxiety may come from cultivating a "Gu Ailing". Everyone saw it in the documentary, because Gu Ailing wanted to exercise and train, her mother let her sleep ten hours a day, which seemed loose, but on the other hand, she was also more obedient, and her daily schedule was calculated in minutes, and she went to class at the point, one after another. I don't think all parents can do that because it doesn't necessarily have that much money and time.
So there is no need to worry, because even if Gu Ailing did not win so many championships, she has been admitted to Stanford, and the quality of life is quite good. Therefore, many things cannot be directly borrowed, let alone directly from the target.
But there are still experiences worth learning from, not to cultivate a new "Gu Ailing", but to raise a better child. For example, I like that sports games affect my children to like sports, and my love of reading will also drive children to like to read, not to make children become world champions, but to make his life more fun and hobbies.
Of course, if it is not feasible to borrow directly, if your child is "Lang Lang", it may be screwed up if you borrow the "Gu Ailing" training model. Can't because Gu Ailing wants to exercise for ten hours a day, arrange for his children to sleep enough for ten hours, not to mention anything else, I sincerely hope that Chinese parents can ensure that our children sleep enough for eight hours, it is already very good.
The most important thing is to discover what your child is suitable for and how to give him something he loves while helping him with good time management.
In addition, we should see athletes who grew up in a similar family background to Xu Mengtao, and see the efforts made by ordinary Chinese parents. Financial resources are not something that everyone can do, but fortunately there is still some fairness in the world, and not all successes are "smashed" by money.
I think that this Winter Olympics is like a mirror, can reflect different lives, what we need is to learn from "smacking and touching", not anxiety, our own children may not be suitable for "Gu Ailing", not suitable for being "wolves", but he is suitable to become better, and then let the family also get better.
Being a parent is not a natural parent because of physiological reasons, and will always be a parent, more importantly, to understand the child, in the growth of the child at the same time but also to continue to learn, "parent" is a need for lifelong learning "industry".

Ten years of service has not missed a meeting to speak firmly
Nandu: This year is also the tenth year that you are a CPPCC member in performing his duties, how do you evaluate your ten years of experience in performing your duties?
Bai Yansong: It's really fast. Ten years in the blink of an eye. As a CPPCC member, I sometimes have an overlap with the news media, that is, you have to pay attention to social reality, find solutions, and do in-depth research.
But there are also some different places, such as in the position of the CPPCC, you can amplify the sound and gather the sound. For example, the issue of children born out of wedlock may be difficult to discuss immediately and on a large scale in the program, but as a CPPCC member, it is necessary to advance the amount.
I have not missed a meeting once in ten years, and when it is time to speak, I will speak resolutely, even if some of the speeches are occasionally harsh to others, but if you don't say it, what is your value?
At the same time, CPPCC members attach great importance to forward-looking, but forward-looking will have some risks in real life, because it is forward-looking, and there will be all kinds of voices that do not understand. Of course, I also need to be hot today, I will mention what.
Since I'm a journalist, I still have to stay a little farther away from the hottest. To sum up, if you want to be a good CPPCC member, you must be like a gentleman, harmonious and different. Hearing the various voices of the CPPCC, these voices come together and become part of deliberative democracy.
In addition, the friendship of gentlemen is as light as water, but the friendship of gentlemen should be based on the position of common values. Usually there should be no interest connection, but when encountering common values and common things, you can jointly promote many things.
For example, we also submitted a proposal on an ad hoc basis, that is, when the vicious injury incident occurred, Member Ling Feng quickly gathered some members' proposals and submitted them to the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the Supreme People's Court to protect the rights and interests of doctors.
In recent years, the CPPCC has placed special emphasis on reading books, and I think everyone should read books, but CPPCC members should read more books, because they must ensure that they are right, accurate, and in advance. If you don't have a good reserve of knowledge, it's hard to do that. Therefore, I think that CPPCC members are also like gentlemen and cautious and independent.
In my mind, I often say that a good CPPCC member should be like a gentleman.
CPPCC members should discover problems, find answers to solve problems, give voice, expand their voices, and form a social consensus, and then become a greater driving force, and one day things may be changed.
These may be too avant-garde and even incomprehensible now, but in a few years, everyone's concept will be more progressive, and they will feel right. This is the process of gathering voices and reaching consensus, and the rights of minorities are guaranteed. When the interests of more and more minorities in a society can be guaranteed, the society is safe and friendly, so my ultimate goal is this.

Whether to become a better version of yourself, 20 years later
Nandu: This year is also the tenth year that you have brought the East-West United University, how do you evaluate the decade when you bring students?
Bai Yansong: It's not that I'm gaining anything, if the students of these ten classes feel that they have gained. And they have set up their own small families, you know, in this era everyone is more and more like an "island", as if there are so many circles of friends, but in fact, how many real friends?
So I'm pleased to see that 11 people in each of the four colleges and five majors make up a group. Like these two years of local New Year, there are several graduated students, they have been together, when I heard the news from afar, although I did not spend the Spring Festival with them, I will feel very happy. To borrow a song from Qi Qin, when you are lonely, you can still think of this team.
Sometimes it is not necessarily what I give students knowledge, it may be an education, or give them a new companionship, a family with family tinges for a lifetime, to help each other learn and grow. In the course of two years, I was a teacher, but after two years, it became a friendship and a kind of family affection, which was a comprehensive harvest.
I don't measure success or failure in the immediate secular sense. Every year when I graduate, I tell them to see you in 20 years. 20 years later, are you a particularly good person, a capital "person"? Is it taking responsibility? Is it career or professionalism? I'm going to measure that stuff.
