Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 89,100 units and 88,300 units, respectively, and the sales volume broke the 90,000-vehicle mark again, and it was still a high-probability event to impact the target of 1 million vehicles according to the current sales rhythm.
Driven by the sales of new energy vehicles, BYD's production and sales of automobiles exceeded 90,000 units, an increase of more than three times year-on-year, whether in the fuel vehicle market or the new energy vehicle market, it is a more dazzling existence. Among them, BYD's passenger car sales are 90,268 units, and the cumulative sales volume this year has exceeded 180,000 units, and the sales volume in the first five months of 2021 is only 190,000 units, and the first two months have been close to the sum of last year's five months of sales.
BYD commercial vehicles have shown signs of rebound this year, with the number of vehicles exceeding 1,000 in the first two months, an increase of 95% year-on-year. In February, BYD delivered 172 pure electric buses to the Bogotá Municipal Government and the Municipal Public Transport Administration, marking the beginning of BYD's 1,000 pure electric bus project.

The reason why the sales off-season in February was not weak was mainly affected by the epidemic in Xi'an, where BYD Auto squeezed many orders last year and could not be delivered, and was well released in February. At the same time, affected by the Spring Festival holiday, the effective sales and production time in February increased, so there was a double growth in production and sales. However, with the exception of commercial vehicles, all models saw a slight decline in the previous month.
In February 2022, the total installed capacity of new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries was about 4.615GWh, and the cumulative installed capacity this year was about 9.385GWh. On February 26, the power battery project of FAW Fordi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by BYD and FAW Group, was officially started in Changchun, with a total investment of 13.5 billion yuan in the power battery project, which can meet the configuration needs of 600,000 electric vehicles per year after completion and operation, and achieve an annual output value of more than 20 billion yuan.
In addition to the layout of power batteries and semiconductors, in order to enrich the intelligent attributes of products, BYD will choose Baidu as its intelligent driving supplier. Baidu provides BYD with ANP intelligent driving products and man-machine co-driving maps. It is understood that the Baidu intelligent driving team has entered the field in advance to cooperate with BYD for development, and will soon achieve mass production of cooperative models.
