Self-driving startup Motive plans to launch a self-driving car-based "robotaxi" service in Las Vegas, USA, to provide driverless passenger transportation services.
The service will include a self-driving car based on the electric car Ioniq 5, which Motional developed in conjunction with Hyundai last year.
According to Reuters and other foreign media reported on the 25th, Momental CEO Karl Iagnemma said in an interview with local media, "We will use Lyft's network to launch a 'Robo Taxi' service based on autonomous vehicles at the end of 2023." "Electric cars from Hyundai will be used here."

Along with Google's Waymo and GM Cruise, Motional is considered one of the leaders who can make real profits based on self-driving cars over the next 1-2 years.

Hyundai motor company demonstrated the Ioniq 5-based robot taxi, developed jointly with Motional, at IAA 2021 in Munich, Germany, last September.
The IONIQ 5 Robot Taxi is designed to identify the 360-degree environment around the car and detect road conditions up to 300m away from 30 sensors installed in the car, including cylindrical lidar mounted on the roof.
The IONIQ 5 features a spacious interior space based on E-GMP, a platform dedicated to electric vehicles, and the application of human-machine interface (HMI) technology to help represent the driver in communication between the car and the passenger.
