According to official information, the IMA platform under development can not only standardize the chassis, but also the battery system and motor, this architecture can be applied to all currently visible BEV pure electric models, not only that, the IMA platform can also improve the range, according to the official statement, compared with the current Ioniq 5, the electric vehicle built through the IMA platform is expected to increase the endurance of more than 50%.

IMA Platform: 35% lower cost, 30% lower weight

According to the new plan report, Hyundai has developed five electric motors with a 200 mm core (variable length). The inverter and transmission will be combined into one powertrain. Four of the powertrains (the eM series for general rides) will use an 800 V battery system, while the fifth eS powertrain (for PBV) will be available for a 400 V battery system.
