Contemporary calligraphy is in a critical stage of cultural transformation, and the display and future space of calligraphy is gradually being covered by open social public spaces from self-sufficiency in the style of calligraphy. As a contemporary cultural person, Chen Hailiang adheres to the established direction in the cultural trend of the times, with an unswerving initial intention, middle-aged, and constantly forges ahead in the dual variations of practice and theory. This is why the National Art Museum of China included it in the Academic Invitational Series.

Chen Hailiang received the first doctorate in calligraphy practice and theory of the China Academy of Arts, and in the years of study, pen and ink tempering and life accumulation, he has always adhered to the ancient precept of "knots are passed down from time to time, and it is not easy to use the pen for eternity", and pursue the realm of "the ancient times are not obedient, and the present is not the same". Wu Weishan, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, director of the National Art Museum of China, and vice chairman of the China Artists Association, commented: "Judging from the 12 works exhibited by Chen Hailiang this time, with its determination and frankness that moves casually, the explosive power of instant acceleration, the astringency of the paper, and the release of the body. The lines in the pen embody the symbiosis of living and virtual and real, the ingenious combination of love and reason, and the ineffable spiritual posture and emotional catharsis. ”
