In 2011, after more than 2 years of volunteer lectures at the Sanxingdui Museum, I would like to share my views.
The reason why Sanxingdui can attract the attention of the first major media such as CCTV and carry out live broadcasting is that the cultural significance brought by the excavation of Sanxingdui is too great, and it has risen to the height of the origin of Chinese civilization. Secondly, there are too many mysteries in such a developed civilization, and a large number of viewers are looking forward to a new round of excavations that can solve the mysteries, and CCTV naturally will not miss such an opportunity.
The cultural significance of Sanxingdui Since ancient times, our traditional consciousness and education have instilled the cognition that Chinese civilization originated in the Yellow River Basin of the Central Plains, and the Central Plains civilization represented by Yanhuang and Xia Shang zhou is the only origin of Chinese civilization.
However, the discovery of Sanxingdui has completely subverted people's cognition, and the excavation of Sanxingdui has proved to the world that the origin of Chinese civilization is diversified, and the Yangtze River outside the Yellow River is also the birthplace of Chinese civilization, and the two major rivers in China have produced highly developed ancient civilizations in the same historical period.
Why is its cultural significance comparable to that of the entire Central Plains civilization? Because from the perspective of the Sanxingdui site, the area of the entire site is almost as large as the size of the city at the same level as the capital of the Central Plains civilization at the same time, and according to the excavation of the site, the entire ancient city has all the functions of the city, such as the city center, suburbs, residential areas, workshop areas, sacrifice areas, defensive walls, etc., and the division of urban areas is obvious.
Judging from the excavated cultural relics, a large number of bronzes and jades unearthed from Sanxingdui, among these cultural relics, the casting process of bronzes, the carving process of jade tools, the cutting process, etc. have been highly developed, and even some aspects are more advanced than the Central Plains civilization.
Whether it is the size of the city or the level of technology, it is not inferior to the Central Plains civilization, so it is enough to be compared with the Central Plains civilization.
Sanxingdui Puzzles There are many, many puzzles in Sanxingdui throughout, and here are just a few important points
1. The jade tools of Sanxingdui are extremely similar to the jade tools of the Liangzhu culture in Zhejiang, and are also extremely similar to the jade tools excavated from the Central Plains culture, such as the jade bi, jade Qun, yugui, etc. excavated from Sanxingdui, which are almost identical in the Central Plains and the Liangzhu culture of Zhejiang.
According to the Central Plains document "Zhou Li", it is recorded that jade is used as six instruments, the heavens and the earth are worshiped in all directions, the heavens are worshiped with cangbi, the land is sacrificed with Huang Qun, the east is sacrificed with Qinggui, the south is worshiped by Chizhang, the north is sacrificed to the north, and the west is sacrificed with white amber...

That is to say, jade was used to sacrifice to the heavens at that time, and the jade of Sanxingdui was almost exactly the same as that of the Central Plains and the Liangzhu culture of Zhejiang, so were their uses the same? Is its cultural connotation consistent?
If it is the same, then is there still an exchange between Sanxingdui and the Central Plains culture and the Liangzhu culture in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, so there will be a consistent cultural connotation?
Among the bronzes, there are bronze bottles, which were a kind of large and medium-sized containers used to hold wine at that time, commonly used in the Central Plains culture, but Sanxingdui also has almost the same bottle, so is there a relationship between Sanxingdui and the Central Plains culture?
However, this is the puzzle!
Because there is no direct evidence to clearly indicate that there is an exchange between them, because there is no written record, the Central Plains literature has very little record of the ancient Shu Kingdom, and there is no direct information to be found, and Sanxingdui has not found the text at all, only dug out 7 symbols that modern people cannot understand, so it is impossible to prove that they have interactions!
Even if you assume that they have contacts, then the problem is even greater, since the ancient Shu is more dangerous, the road into shu in the Central Plains was built when Qin destroyed Bashu, everyone should know what the boardwalk looks like, that is, in the cliff, chisel a road out, build a ropeway with wood, hang on the cliff half waist, look down, it is all abyss, so steep!
And the historical period of sanxingdui's existence, or the Xia Shang era, more than a thousand years before the Qin dynasty destroyed Bashu, there was no boardwalk at all, how did they communicate? Mountains and mountains, cliffs, how did the ancient Shu people get out of Shu, and how did the Central Plains people enter Shu? Even in the Tang Dynasty, Li Bai said in his poems that Shu Dao was difficult and difficult to go to Qingtian, and that it was all in the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, and Shu Dao was still so difficult, not to mention the traffic that had just entered the Bronze Civilization Age from the Neolithic Age.
2. Many of sanxingdui's cultural relics raw materials come from afar
For example, jade from Yunnan, Southeast Asia, and even from Xinjiang, sea shells must come from the sea, this problem is even greater, is it possible that the people of Sanxingdui can already have international exchanges at that time? From Sichuan, an inland region located in the southwest, there are contacts with people in Southeast Asia and South Asia?
Sichuan's terrain is low in the middle and high on all sides, so the center of Sichuan is the Chengdu Plain, the Sichuan Basin, and all four sides are high mountains, and the mountains in the south are not low, there are certain difficulties in going out, and you have to run over the mountains and mountains to Southeast Asia, and you have to complete the material exchanges with each other, this difficulty, in the Bronze Civilization Era, it is almost impossible to complete!
In addition, there is a saying that Sanxingdui also unearthed ivory, thousands of years ago in Sichuan, it seems that there is no elephant such an animal, so many people think that elephants are also from Southeast Asia. But this issue is currently debated, because among the cultural relics unearthed elsewhere in Sichuan seem to prove that there were elephants in Sichuan, China thousands of years ago, I have not studied it, and I dare not say it.
3. How did Sanxingdui disappear?
Sanxingdui as a highly developed ancient human civilization, flourished in the Xia Shang Zhou period, but in the past about 3,000 years ago disappeared, qin destroyed Bashu, the local people who went in to see it were not the wave of people in the Sanxingdui era, how did such a developed civilization suddenly disappear, what kind of force can make such a huge civilization directly destroyed?
Is it war? Or a disease? Or civil unrest? Or is it a foreign invasion? But no one can know, because the cultural relics unearthed so far cannot be proved, let alone the written records, not even a word is found, there are 7 symbols placed there, and the ghost knows what it means.
To sum up, the reason why CCTV is so concerned is because the cultural value of Sanxingdui is great, and its significance has risen to such a height as the origin of Chinese civilization.
Second, there are too many mysteries in Sanxingdui, there are too many people who want to solve the mystery, there are too many people who want to know the causes and consequences of this civilization, and now sanxingdui has started the second excavation, and everyone is looking forward to solving the mystery through new excavation, so as a news media, they naturally will not let go of such a major information.
