The most popular luxury car brands for consumers have been released, and Lexus, BMW and Tesla ranked in the top three

The Kelley Blue Book brand observation report, an authoritative american car evaluation company, announced the latest ranking of the most popular car brands among consumers. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Ford and Lexus ranked first in the non-luxury car and luxury car segments, respectively.

In the quarterly ranking of non-luxury car brands, Ford replaced longtime leader Toyota in the first place. Ford last held that position in 2015, and Toyota had previously held the top spot for nearly four consecutive years. Chevrolet came in third.

In the ranking of luxury car brands, Lexus barely surpassed BMW to become the car brand that car buyers considered the most, and Tesla still ranked third after the two.

By the end of 2021, there have been some noticeable changes in the shopping considerations and perceptions of automotive consumers. These shifts in 2021 are special, with automakers around the world repeatedly forced to shut down production due to global computer chip shortage crises, price increases, and other related challenges, and the resulting inventory shortages are difficult not only for automakers, but also for consumers and dealers. However, exciting new products and growing interest in electrified cars continue to breathe life into the automotive industry, leading new car consumers into 2022.
