A few days ago, an old friend who had been a private teacher talked about the private teachers in the 1960s and 1970s, and his feelings and understanding of private teachers were not as simple as I thought. First of all, private education is one of the characteristics of the rural collective economic period. Private teachers rely on the members of the village collective economic organization to jointly contribute to the use of grain and income generated by the village collective for the construction of schools, the purchase of teaching aids, and the work of private teachers to support compulsory education in rural areas. It can be said that this can also be regarded as Chinese characteristics. Second, in the history of private education over the past few decades, private teachers, whose identity is that of peasants and whose posts are teachers, have trained hundreds of millions of knowledgeable and educated socialist laborers for the mainland under the condition of very simple conditions for running schools; they have sent a large number of talents to all fronts; and they have played an important role in realizing the realization of the four modernizations and the rapid development of urbanization on the mainland. Third, the position of private teacher is a melting pot for cultivating refining talents. In this post, through self-study, post practice refining and national training and improvement, not only hundreds of thousands of private teachers with low education level have been trained into qualified people's teachers in the country, but also some private teachers have grown into outstanding talents in various industries after training and training. Some have entered universities to continue their studies, some have entered factories to work, some have become people's liberation army guards the frontier, and some have become leaders in the construction of new rural areas and the development of rural economy. Listening to the words of my old friend, I deeply felt how difficult it was for private teachers to persist and dedicate themselves in obscurity for decades in the harsh countryside, in the inaccessible mountain villages, and in the frontiers of the motherland.
