At the end of last year, with the adoption of the Italian government's resolution, new requirements were put forward for the electrification of supercar brands such as Ferrari and Lamborghini. In other European countries, in the face of increasingly stringent relevant policies and regulations, those ultra-luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley and other ultra-luxury brands that are good at using large-displacement engines have also begun to fully deploy the field of electrification.

In order to show the determination of the brand to fully electrify, Rolls-Royce has "electrified" its century-old landmarks.

Recently, Rolls-Royce released a newly designed "Celebratory Goddess" logo, the new Celebratory Goddess as a whole presents a one-legged forward leaning forward, waist slightly oblique and eye injection forward swooping posture, like the goddess of speed to give people a more athletic and powerful feeling, and closer to her creator, illustrator and sculptor Charles Sykes in the early 20th century to create the original version.

The height of the "Celebrating Goddess" logo of the new design was reduced from 100.01 mm to 82.37 mm, except for the optimization of size and details, the other designs have not been changed, and the skirt that is often mistaken for "wings" still maintains a posture of swinging behind the wind.

On February 6, 1911, Rolls-Royce officially registered the "Goddess of Celebration" as its intellectual property rights, and carried out design adjustments in different versions such as size, material and posture during the 111-year development process. The design adjustment was made this time to make the standard sculpture have better aerodynamicity and turn the previous concept into reality.

In this regard, Torsten Muller-Otvos, Global CEO of Rolls-Royce, said: "The goddess of celebration will always keep pace with the times like the Rolls-Royce brand, but at the same time will be loyal to its own nature and character. The new shape is more elegant than ever, while having good aerodynamics to suit the era of electrification. ”

The new "Goddess of Celebration" design helps achieve superior aerodynamic performance of the brand's new Spectre Shining. It is reported that the first Rolls-Royce "Shining" prototype has a wind resistance coefficient of only 0.26, which is the best aerodynamic model rolls-royce has ever seen. In the subsequent testing process, it will be further optimized.

As Rolls-Royce's first pure electric model, the Shining will be built based on a "luxury architecture" and is expected to share a dual-motor powertrain with the BMW iX M60, with a maximum output of 449 kW, a peak torque of 1100 Nm, and a battery pack of 111.5 kWh. As Rolls-Royce's fastest model, this pure electric vehicle is expected to meet the world in the fourth quarter of 2023.

With the further deepening of rolls-Royce electrification, the new "Goddess of Celebration" statue created exclusively for the new pure electric car of the Shining will also appear on other models of the brand in the future. And this new standard also shows that Rolls-Royce will be firm and deeply committed to the road of electrification.

And Bentley, which also belongs to the British super luxury brand, has been walking very fast in the pace of "taking electricity". Compared to other competitors, Bentley was one of the first ultra-luxury brands to launch a plug-in hybrid model, with its earliest electrified model dating back to the Bentayga PHEV unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

According to Bentley's planned timeline, it will develop and manufacture the first all-electric model in the British Crewe, and is expected to officially roll off the production line in 2025. The Bentley Crewe plant, which was built in 1938, currently employs around 4,000 people, from which all Bentley models are derived. It will also invest £2.5 billion in sustainability over the next 10 years to help the plant further achieve its electrification goals.

It is planned that Bentley will launch an electric model every year for five years from 2025 onwards, and the design and research and development work will be completed at the headquarters factory in Crewe, UK. By 2030, Bentley will achieve the goal of pure electrification and full carbon neutrality of all products.

Brand CEO Adrian Hallmark said: "Just as the Continental GT in 2003 was a game changer, a segment shaper, we are not only committed to building the first Bentley into an electric car, we also intend to create and shape a segment. Our goal is to change the rules of the game. ”

According to Bentley's previously released "Beyond 100" strategy, hybrid model options will be available in all car series in 2024, and the Continental GT plug-in hybrid sports car is expected to meet the world soon, and in the new wave of electrification, Bentley is likely to further change the rules of the game.
