The results show:
Poor response to treatment with low concentrations of atropine in 0.025%, 0.01%, and 0.05% is associated with younger age.
After observing greater efficacy without significant adverse effects on quality of life (QOL), 0.05% atropine was used as the optimal concentration for long-term myopia control, with an effect of more than 0.01% and 0.025% atropine.

Dilated pupils, photophobia, and blurring near and far.
The effect of atropine on the eye is mainly to relax the ciliary muscle, but it will incidentally cause dilated pupils, and under the same conditions more light enters the eyeball, so it will be photophobia. The change in pupil size in low concentrations of atropine is very small relative to that of high concentrations of atropine, resulting in a faster recovery of transient myopia blur.
May cause allergy problems.
A small proportion of children and adolescents develop problems such as allergic conjunctivitis and allergic blepharitis. Once the allergic problem occurs, it can disappear after active treatment after discontinuation of the drug.
Intraocular pressure changes.
After atropine use, the pupils are dilated, which may cause an increase in intraocular pressure. However, foreign studies have shown that there is no significant difference in intraocular pressure after 3 years between the two groups of children who use and do not use atropine.
