The giant ship of the sea is magically missing
In November 1998, the 10,000-ton cargo ship Changsheng of Huibo Shipping Co., Ltd. departed from Hong Kong with 23 crew members and 14,000 tons of slag and sailed to Malaysia.
Due to the long distance and unpredictable sea conditions, the "Changsheng" needs to report its position and navigation to the headquarters communication on time every day, and then the headquarters will release the next round of tasks.
The first half of the ship has been running smoothly until November 17, when the dispatchers of the huibo company's main station carried out daily counts, but found that the "Changsheng" did not send out a message on time on this day.
Because this was the case on the ship as early as a month ago, when it was found that the signal interruption was caused by the damage to the ship's satellite communication equipment, the dispatchers initially thought that there was a problem with the communication equipment of the Changsheng.
So at 4:30 p.m. that day, the general affairs did not care, but as usual, sent the next task of the ship to the "Changsheng" ship, but did not expect to receive a message an hour later that the message could not be sent.
If only the communication equipment is broken, but the message cannot be sent, and the message should still be normal, so the loss of the "Changsheng" wheel should not be because the communication equipment is damaged.
Could it be that something went wrong with the satellite? Because it is reported that due to the upcoming meteor shower in recent days, many countries have fine-tuned the position of their satellites.
Whaler decided to wait another day to see.
However, the next day, the "Changsheng" ship still did not have any news, through contacting the relevant engineering personnel learned that the communication equipment of the "Changsheng" ship is actually newly replaced, and there is an automatic generator on the ship that cannot be blackouted, and the previously envisaged satellite position adjustment will not affect the information reception.
All these facts contradicted the speculations of the previous dispatchers.
So Whaler contacted Radio Television Hong Kong and called the "Changsheng" round on the radio every hour.
However, the ship was dead silent, showing no sign of responding.
In an anxious atmosphere, the "Changsheng" has been missing for more than 24 hours in the blink of an eye, and this news has attracted the attention of the company's senior management.
So from November 18, the company not only launched an internal meeting, dispatched five search and rescue boats to search for high-density searches on the possible routes of the "Changsheng" ship, but also contacted the Beijing Maritime Search and Rescue Center and the dispatching department of China Ocean Shipping Corporation to assist in the search.
Under such a nationwide search day and night, the "Changsheng" wheel still had no news at all.
Huibo contacted the Malaysian side again, hoping to get some clues in the Malaysian field, but the answer there was only "did not see, did not see..."
Such a huge ship, 146 meters long, 12.1 meters high, weighing 10,373 tons, even if it sank, there should have been scattered fragments, but now it is as if it has evaporated at sea, as if it had never existed.
Where did it go?
For a moment, the hearts of the people were clouded.
Multi-party investigation leads to the truth
Even if everyone knows in their hearts that the "Changsheng" wheel should have encountered some kind of accident, they still have not given up hope, and the search and rescue work has been in full swing.
On December 4, 1998, in Huilai County, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, a fisherman was fishing at sea as usual, and when he closed the net, he found that the net was much heavier than before.
"Maybe there's a big fish!" The fisherman thought to himself, and triumphantly called out to his companions to help collect the nets.
At the moment when the fishing net came out of the water, the fishermen who were originally happy looked at it, but they were frightened to take a few steps back, and their faces turned white in an instant, and what lay in the net was not a big fish, but a corpse mutilated by a large bundle of flowers!
10 days after the Huilai County police received the case, another fisherman in Shanwei City found a body.
In this way, in December, more than 10 bodies were found in this sea, and they were all tied with ropes, and the whole was unbearable.
This anomaly was soon noticed by the police searching for the "Changsheng" ship, and the various police immediately carried out DNA testing and other identification measures on these corpses, and surprisingly found that they were all crew members of the "Changsheng" ship before they died!
This means that the disappearance of the Changsheng ship is not a natural disaster, but most likely a human evil, at that time, on the route from Hong Kong to Malaysia, there was a high sea, where pirates were often infested, then the ship may have encountered pirates.
The word "pirate" is like a boulder pressed against everyone's heart, and the police in charge of the search also turned the direction of the search to the pirate's speculation.
Li Zilu, an investigator of the criminal police detachment of the Shanwei City Public Security Bureau, naturally thought of this after hearing the news, and at the same time he also heard a rumor in November:
At that time, on the public seashore, a group of people robbed a huge ship with guns by posing as border guards.
Isn't November the time when the "Changsheng" wheel disappeared?
Li Zilu had not paid attention to this rumor because he had not received the exact news, and now that all the crew members of the "Changsheng" ship had been killed, he immediately associated this rumor with the unfortunate ship.
However, he was still not sure, so he secretly launched an investigation on his own, and finally learned through various channels:
Shanwei people Huang Daming, Weng Siliang and a group of foreigners, Acheng, used Huang Daming's ship to rob a ship bound for Malaysia in mid-November near 119 degrees east longitude and 23 degrees north latitude.
Li Zilu, who reached the news, immediately reported the news to Guo Shaobo, director of the Shanwei City Public Security Bureau, on December 23.
Guo Shaobo listened, the time, place, and ship all matched the "long-term" ship, and this news was most likely the biggest breakthrough!
Therefore, he immediately set up an investigation team headed by Li Baohao, executive deputy director of the Shanwei City Public Security Bureau, Zhuang Jinyu, shi Daotian, and other leaders of the criminal police detachment, to listen to Li Zilu's analysis report again.
After listening to the report, the party members keenly sensed that the "Changsheng" ship was inseparable from Huang Daming and others, and immediately decided to separate heads to conduct a secret investigation of the suspected people involved in the case.
Shi Daotian was responsible for the investigation behind the main suspect Huang Daming, and through combining the field investigation with the information provided by the Shanwei City Urban Public Security Bureau, he learned that Huang Daming contracted the anti-smuggling work of the Border Defense Brigade of Dongshan County, Fujian Province in his early years, and although he was suspended by the state, he still secretly kept the anti-smuggling boat and often drove it around Fujian and Raoping.
In addition to basic information, Shi Daotian also obtained telephone and address information from Huang Daming and his subordinates.
After such a precise preliminary investigation, Zheng Shaodong, director of the Guangdong Provincial Criminal Investigation Bureau, personally sat down and announced that Li Xiaoqing, deputy director of the Major and Important Cases Department of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, would formally set up an investigation team for the "Changsheng" round to arrest the people involved.
A full-scale dispatch to pursue the murderer
The day after the case filing meeting, Shi Daotian and others came to Dongshan County, Fujian Province, and the police of Guangdong and Fujian joined forces to formulate a plan to arrest Huang Daming.
They pretended not to know about the "Changsheng" ship case, boarded Huang Daming's "anti-smuggling" ship on the pretext of receiving a theft alarm, and naturally brought several people on board the ship back to the police department smoothly.
Although Huang Daming was not seen on the ship, his men always had them, and Shi Daotian and others were full of confidence and immediately began to interrogate the gang.
However, to the surprise of the police, not only did the gang not have Huang Daming's subordinates, but they were not even familiar with Huang Daming, who claimed to be Guangdong Lufeng people, and came here only to discuss with the owner of the ship to buy a boat, and did not even see the owner of the ship.
The first reaction of the police after hearing it was that they were lying, but this operation was carried out in the name of the theft case from beginning to end, and the gang had no reason to tell a lie, then it should be That Huang Daming heard the wind coming from the police and ran away.
Shi Daotian and others carefully analyzed that the police operation was only carried out for a total of two days, and Huang Daming could not have predicted the prophet, so it should be these two days of escape, and two days could not run far.
Therefore, the police launched a carpet search at the local hostel, and finally found the whereabouts of Huang Daming and his party in a small hotel.
Without delay, the public security department immediately secretly mobilized manpower to run directly to the foothold of Huang Daming and others.
"Don't move! The police! ”
A loud bang kicked open the door of the room, but found that the room was empty, only the messy bed showed that there were people living here before, the police came forward to touch the futon, and there was a little temperature, which showed that Huang Daming and others should have just left for a long time
Looking around, the streets are empty, where can Huang Daming go?
In the following days, the police searched the surrounding hotels and boats several times, but did not find Huang Daming's figure.
Helplessly, they could only return to Shanwei first and try to start with others.
After returning to Shanwei, after several days of remote inspection, the police found a suspicious person: Wang Daqing, a security officer at the Chengxi Police Station of the Shanwei City Public Security Bureau, and it has been observed that in recent days he has contacted Huang Daming by telephone and other means many times, and the two must have something to do with each other.
On January 1, 1999, at the beginning of the new year, Li Bao summoned Wang Daqing and sent two groups to interrogate him separately.
On the first day, Wang Daqing still had a fluke mentality and did not answer any questions from the police.
The next day, under the pressure of Li Zilu's layers of questioning, he finally broke down and truthfully confessed that he and Huang Daming were old friends, and last month the police discussed the arrest operation just happened to be overheard by him, so when he received a call from Huang Daming on December 30, he informed Huang Daming of the arrest action, and these days contacted Huang Daming at his request to send him some daily necessities.
The police then pressed and asked, "Where is Huang Daming now?"
Wang Daqing was already crying bitterly and told the police that Huang Daming was hiding in a farmer's home in Dunxu Village, Meilong Town, Haifeng County.
According to his information, the police launched an overnight arrest and successfully arrested Huang Daming at noon that day.
In the subsequent interrogation, Huang Claim claimed that he had not participated in the expedition last November, when his brother-in-law Weng Siliang had borrowed his boat and was working with Jia Hongwei, a Native of Henan, and Sony, an Indonesian. Wei traveled with some other out-of-towners.
When asked about their purpose of borrowing the boat, Huang Daming did not know three questions, it seems that the real answer still has to start with Weng Siliang and others.
With the first official suspect on the network, Zheng Shaodong officially named the "Changsheng" case "9901 Project" and established a special case command.
On January 3, 1999, combined with information provided by Huang Daming, the police squatted overnight and captured Weng Siliang's subordinate Wei Zhong, who was preparing to flee.
During the early interrogation, Wei Zhong always looked at him left and right, and did not mention his relationship with Weng Siliang at all, until Chen Weihua, deputy captain of the Shanwei City Criminal Police Detachment who participated in the interrogation, took out a photo of the "Changsheng" and finally panicked.
The police seized this opportunity and pressed questions, and Wei Zhong finally collapsed in his chair: "This is the ship that Sony grabbed." ”
In less than 20 words, it exposed the bloody "Changsheng" round of tragedy, and the police stayed up day and night for two months, which is a real and substantial step.
In order to bring the suspects to justice as soon as possible, the police divided into two teams, one team responsible for capturing Sony. Wei, Jia Hongwei and others, while another team was specifically responsible for Weng Siliang's arrest.
The arrest of Jia Hongwei and others went very smoothly, first of all, the Shenzhen police quickly identified their hiding places, although Jia Hongwei informed his accomplice Li Changhong and others at the first time of the police operation, and at the same time secretly hid guns, but he and Sony. Wei did not choose to escape.
As long as there is no escape, it is much easier, although it can be directly confronted, but the police decided to outwit in order to minimize casualties.
On the morning of January 5, 1999, Jia Hongwei, who knew that he was not in a good situation, went to the bank to withdraw money to pack his bags, and was arrested on the spot by the police who had already ambushed him.
On the same day, the police were at Sony. Wei's high-ranking officials successfully arrested him in his sleep.
As for Weng Siliang, he was much more cunning.
On January 2, after learning the news of Huang Daming's arrest, Huang Daming's mother and Weng Siliang's father successively informed Weng Siliang of the news, which gave him plenty of time to escape.
After informing the relevant people, Weng Siliang took the money to Boluo for refuge, and the police soon learned of the news and rushed to Boluo.
However, by the time they reached Boluo, the cunning Weng Siliang had already escaped.
Unwilling to fail, the police launched a carpet search of the hiding place, and suddenly the phone in the house rang.
The policemen glanced at each other and realized that this phone call might be one of Weng Siliang's hundred secrets, and his "fox tail" was finally about to be revealed.
On the other end of the phone was Weng Siliang's lover Xiaojun, who would make a phone call with Weng Siliang every day, and it seemed that she did not know the fact that Weng Siliang had escaped again.
By inquiring about the call address, the police quickly found Xiaojun who was far away in Dalian, but through only a later phone call, Weng Siliang realized that Xiaojun was also found by the police, and he never contacted her again, and Xiaojun's line was broken again.
Half a month has passed, and as the suspects of the "Changsheng" have been arrested one after another, the heinous terrorist robbery on the "Changsheng" steamship has gradually appeared in front of the public's eyes.
For a time, the whole country was shocked and panicked.
However, the main suspect, Weng Siliang, has not been arrested, and the police, starting with his mistress, subordinates and even his family, have not been able to obtain accurate information, and Weng Siliang has cut off contact with everyone.
However, as long as a person lives in the world, then there must be traces of existence.
In July 1999, when Weng Siliang ran out of cash, he wrote to his father to ask for money, which was learned by the police who had already mastered the father, and the dawn of victory seemed to be coming.
Although Weng Siliang sent an unrelated person through numerous procedures to withdraw money, the police still stripped away the cocoon, starting from the mysterious person who took the money, inferting layer by layer, field investigation, and precise discussion.
On August 15, 1999, the police finally arrested Weng Siliang, who was watching TELEVISION, in Longzhou Village, Aojiang Town, Huilai County.
From December 1998 to August 1999, for nine months, the police traveled all over the country, eating hard steamed bread for instant noodles, hard bed seats for beds, and sometimes even all night long, and finally successfully arrested all the perpetrators of the "Changsheng" case and gave an account to the people of the whole country.
Skynet was restored without leakage
At 9:00 a.m. on December 10, 1999, the "Changshenglun" extraordinarily large international piracy case was tried in public by the Intermediate People's Court of Shanwei City, Guangdong Province.
The trial lasted 6 days, and in the first few days, several of the main criminals confessed to the fact of the robbery of the ship, but refused to admit to the killing.
After a battle of wits and courage in court, all 38 people involved in the case pleaded guilty.
On December 22, 1999, the "Changsheng" case was publicly decided:
Thirteen major suspects were sentenced to death for intentional homicide and robbery, 1 was sentenced to life imprisonment, 7 were sentenced to more than 10 years in prison, 11 were sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment, and 6 were exempted from criminal punishment.
Huang Daming shouted injustice after hearing this, believing that he had only borrowed a ship and did not involve robbery, so why should he be sentenced to death.
In this regard, the judge explained that although Huang Daming was not involved in the killing, he not only provided police uniforms for the pirates, but also commanded the robbery on the shore, and afterwards also shared the stolen money, so he was one of the main conspirators in the case, and until the final verdict, Huang Daming was not exempted from the fate of the death penalty.
However, no matter what punishment Weng Siliang and others were sentenced to, they could not erase the tragic fact that 23 families had lost their loved ones.
In this regard, the Guangyuan Company, which sent 23 crew members, set up a "leading group for the work of the families of the crew members killed on the Changsheng Ship" and went to Liaoning, Henan, Jiangxi, Sichuan and other provinces and cities where the families of the 23 crew members were located to carry out one-on-one pension work.
In 2020, all the tragedies have long ended, and the 23 families who have lost their loved ones seem to have started a new life, but whenever they think of these tragically dead relatives, they always feel a burst of pain.
Some of these 23 people already have families and have become human wives and fathers, and some of them have parents to provide for, how can they think that a voyage has become a mourning song of life.
Everything has passed, but in the hearts of people who have lost their loved ones, time is still stuck at the moment when they receive the news of the death of their families.
In 2021, more than a dozen accomplices have been released from prison, some of them have returned to their hometowns to make a living by fishing, and some of them have never approached the sea again, they are more than forty years old, their appearance is ordinary, their eyes are vicissitudes, and they have hidden traces in the crowd, but the fact that they have participated in such a cruel robbery will not disappear and will forever become the shackles of their hearts.
They can only live huddled up in the small village, being pointed out, but they can't argue half a sentence, because they all deserve it.
In 2022, 24 years have passed since the "Changsheng" round case, and 13 of the "Changsheng" round main criminals have been executed 22 years ago.
Zhu Yousheng, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, went out on time every day in prison, read news and newspapers in his spare time, and sometimes wrote a diary to record his feelings after re-education, and he also expressed his remorse more than once and thanked the state for its leniency.
Although the families of the 23 crew members on the "Changsheng" ship have been satisfactorily compensated, the pain cannot be erased, and some of them choose to dedicate themselves to society to remember the martyrs who died.
In the 2020 outbreak of the new crown epidemic, many family members of the crew also threw themselves into the fight against the epidemic without hesitation, because they did not want more people to suffer the loss of their families.
The crew's children are now grown up and even have their own families, but they still cry when they think of their father today, 24 years later.
