17 years of pursuit! The Public Security Ofeyang cracked a backlog of homicides

The suspect Wu Mouwen was escorted back to Leiyang.

Red net moment Hengyang, January 19 (correspondent Huang Zhen, reporter Song Meijun, intern Liu Hao) On January 14, with the criminal suspect Wu Mouwen being escorted back to Leiyang, a 17-year-old murder case was finally successfully solved.

On the morning of May 19, 2005, a case of intentional homicide occurred in Shanmu Village, Nanjing Township, Leiyang City, and because of a neighborhood dispute, Wu Mouwen and Wu Mouping father and son killed a villager in the same village with a murder weapon. After the incident, Wu Mouwen and Wu Mouping absconded separately, and Wu Mouping was arrested on the train by the police handling the case, but Wu Mouwen disappeared. After that, the police handling the case carried out a large number of investigations, but due to the criminal investigation technology at that time, the pursuit of Wu Mouwen was deadlocked.

In the past 17 years, although the police handling the case have been rotated several times, the public security of Leiyang has never given up the pursuit of Wu Mouwen. Since 2021, the Leiyang Municipal Public Security Bureau has carried out the action of "unveiling the commander-in-chief" to tackle the murder cases, set up a special work class for the city's backlog of homicide cases one by one, re-sorted out and sorted out the clues of the cases, and fully promoted the investigation of the backlog of homicide cases. The police handling the case further broadened their investigation ideas, increased the intensity of visits and investigations, and through a large number of data comparisons and analysis and judgment, they got an important clue not long ago: Wu Mouwen appeared in a certain place in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province.

The party committee of the Leiyang Municipal Public Security Bureau attached great importance to it, and Ning Zhongjun, vice mayor and director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, asked the criminal investigation brigade to organize elite police forces to fully investigate the case, and sent a working group to Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, to carry out investigation and control work.

On January 11, the working group rushed to Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, and with the strong assistance of the local government, after three days and nights of meticulous investigation, wu Mouwen's foothold was determined. On January 14, the police handling the case arrested the criminal suspect Wu Mouwen. After interrogation, Wu Mouwen confessed to the crime of deliberately killing villagers in the same village.

At present, criminal suspect Wu Mouwen has been taken criminal compulsory measures in accordance with the law, and the case is being further investigated.
