Liu Yutong said that Beijing is very concerned about the development of new energy vehicles, including electric vehicles. The development of new energy vehicles is an important measure to cope with climate change and promote economic development, which is of great significance for the adjustment of energy structure, the low-carbon development of the industry, and the realization of the "double carbon" goal. By the end of 2021, the cumulative number of new energy vehicles in Beijing has reached 507,000.

Liu Yutong stressed that the automobile industry is the largest industry in Beijing's high-end manufacturing industry, and we have been actively promoting the structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry institutions.

According to Liu Yutong, last year, the ideal car Beijing Shunyi Green Intelligent Factory was built with an ideal automobile using spare capacity, with a design capacity of 250,000 electric vehicles, which will be completed and put into operation in September 2023; Actively promote the electrification transformation of Beijing Benz, the largest automobile joint venture in Beijing, and has launched three models of EQA, EQB and EQC, and will continue to launch high-end models in the second half of this year.

In addition, Beijing adheres to the basic principles of "electricity is electricity and hydrogen is hydrogen", and the basic principles of passenger car electricity and commercial vehicle hydrogen, and vigorously promote the development of the fuel cell vehicle industry. At the Winter Olympics, Beijing invested 312 fuel cell vehicles and carried out large-scale demonstration operations.

It is worth mentioning that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei fuel cell vehicle demonstration city cluster led by Beijing has been included in the first batch of national demonstration city clusters, and it is planned to promote the application of more than 800 fuel cell vehicles by the end of this year.
