Three members of the Canadian Olympic team were confirmed positive: they did not qualify for the Olympic games

The Canadian Olympic Committee said on Tuesday that 3 members of the Canadian Olympic team that are preparing for the Olympics in Beijing tested positive and are currently in local quarantine, and the 3 Canadians could not play a role in the Olympic Games, and the Canadian Olympic Committee did not specify whether the 3 were athletes or staff members, nor did it publish their names.

According to reports, the Canadian delegation to the Beijing Olympics has a total of 414 members, including athletes, coaches and team staff.

The Canadian Olympic Committee said: "We are managing everyone on a case-by-case basis and we will not disclose the names of those involved at this time in order to respect the privacy of those involved."

The IOC's strategy is for participants to arrive early so that there is time for confirmatory testing and, if necessary, a panel of medical experts.

The Canadian Olympic Committee announced on Friday that five members of the delegation tested positive.

The data shows that the current positive test rate for athletes and officials is 2.9%, while the positive test rate for Olympic service personnel and media personnel is 0.66%.

A total of 200 cases of COVID-19 test-positive have been recorded at the Beijing Olympics since 23 January, and of those 200, 67 are athletes and officials, and 133 are stakeholders.
