The Porsche 911 that can go off-road! Or it will be named after Dakar

[Aika Auto Overseas New Car Original]

Four days ago, we released spy photos of the Porsche high-chassis 911 model taken by overseas media. At the time, foreign media had speculated that the car might be named the 911 Safari for its larger ground clearance, pull-style grille and various plastic skid plates for paying tribute to the Porsche 911 SC Safari, which had achieved a great result at the 1978 Safari Rally in East Africa. But just recently, the situation has changed.

It is understood that this high-chassis rally-oriented 911 is more likely to be named 911 Dakar to commemorate the brilliant achievements of the Porsche 959 at the Paris-Dakar Rally. But whether it's Safari or Dakar, it's certain that Porsche is about to launch a new car that can provide excellent off-road performance, in order to continue Porsche's excellent DNA in off-road rally events.
