iOS 15.4 Beta Safari discovered four WebXR features

On February 2, Qingting Network reported that recently developer Maximiliano Firtman shared the latest discovery, that is, four new WebXR features were found in the Safari browser in the latest iOS 15.4 beta system.

iOS 15.4 Beta Safari discovered four WebXR features

They are:

WebXR Augmented Reality Mode (Disabled)

WebXR Device API (Disabled)

WebXR Gamepad Module (Disabled)

WebXR Hand Input Module (Disabled)

The corresponding four demos:

Experimental MediaSourceInline (disabled)

Opus audio decoder (enabled)

Vorbis audio decoder (enabled)

WebRTC Encoding Transformation API (Enabled)

We know that WebXR is a browser-based general-purpose AR and VR application solution, which can improve the AR and VR experience to a certain extent because it does not need to download apps and other features.

Prior to this, Apple ARKit has indirectly achieved a similar effect through the mode of USDZ, that is, after opening USDZ, Safri provides two options by default: 3D and AR mode.

Even so, we know that Apple is preparing for AR/MR headsets, but there is still no proof that AR and VR support iOS devices, and the specific application scenarios of these APIs on iOS have not yet been clarified. In the future, we will continue to track Apple AR/MR headsets and related messages.
