IT House news on January 20, foreign netizens @iSWUpdates after digging deep into the iOS 16.3 candidate version code, indicating that Apple is still continuing to develop an independent classical music app. The release candidate is the last stage of development before the official release, there will be no major changes in functionality and interface, and Apple is expected to release the official version of iOS 16.3 to the public next week.

According to the information @iSWUpdates excavated, Apple quietly adjusted the application description of the existing Apple Music on the iPhone: "A Shortcut to Apple Classical" changed to "Open in Apple Music Classical". Apple has changed the app's name to "Apple Music Classical" from the description, but it's uncertain what it will call after launch.

IT House also learned that Apple mentions "Explore this artist in the App designed for classical music" in another line of code.

In August 2021, Apple announced the acquisition of classical music service Primephonic and planned to release a dedicated classical music app in 2022, but the app did not launch in 2022.

Apple said in a 2021 press release: "Apple Music plans to launch a dedicated classical music app next year, combined with Primephonic's classical user interface, to make fans love more additional features."

The Primephonic classical music service shut down in September 2021, when users could get free access to Apple Music for 6 months. If eventually the new app is launched, Apple's Classical Music app will serve as an alternative to Primephonic, providing users with classical music experiences like Beethoven and Mozart.
