Jen Simmons, Apple Evangelist and Developer Advocate on Safari and WebKit's Web Developer Experience Team, tweeted: "Everyone I mentioned said Safari was the worst, it was the new IE. This led to her needing feedback from users, preferably highlighting specific bugs and suppressing lack of support for websites and applications.

Jen Simmons also urges users who notice bugs that "existed years ago and weren't fixed" to contact her via a link to bug.webkit.org or the feedback number of Apple's Feedback Assistant to investigate them more closely. This call for feedback has been largely positively responded to.

In recent years, some users have complained about Safari bugs, user experience, and website compatibility. Last year, when Apple unveiled a major redesign of Safari at WWDC, the issues reached a fever pitch and were widely criticized for the changes as "counterintuitive." After months of tweaking, Apple eventually dropped those changes before the public release of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS 12 Monterey, reverting to the previous default Safari design.
