According to The Elec, LG Display has received approval from Apple to provide OLED panels for the iPhone 16 Pro along with Samsung Display.

According to channel sources, Samsung will supply OLED screens for all four models of the iPhone 16 series, and LG Display will only supply screen panels for two Pro models. BOE will supply OLED panels for two standard models.

In the past, LG Display received Apple's mass production approval a few months later than Samsung Display, and the time gap limited LG's supply scale, so Samsung Display often received more orders from Apple. But with Apple's timely approval this time, LG Display will definitely be able to close the gap with Samsung Display.
