Urumqi, January 26 (Reporter Zhao Xiujuan Intern Wang Xue) On January 25, the "Chinese Customs and Local Customs -- The First Phase of Xinjiang's Second Exhibition of Outstanding Works of Spring Festival Paintings and Paper Cutting" sponsored by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was launched at the Xinjiang Art Museum.

The exhibition selected 82 excellent works from more than 300 New Year paintings and paper-cut works submitted by cultural centers at all levels in Xinjiang, and 55 excellent woodcuts and hand-painted New Year paintings from Tianjin Yangliuqing, Shaanxi Fengxiang, Suzhou Taohuawu, Shandong Gaomi, Shandong Linqu and Sichuan Mianzhu, the famous hometown of New Year paintings in The country, a total of 137 paintings were displayed in two phases and three parts. The 40 New Year paintings exhibited in the first phase of the exhibition are mainly the works of non-hereditary inheritors of the national New Year paintings and some award-winning works in Xinjiang.

It is reported that in the past two years, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Cultural Center has vigorously promoted excellent traditional New Year paintings, organized professional New Year painting training in northern and southern Xinjiang, and specially invited non-hereditary inheritors of the national New Year paintings to tell the history of the development of New Year paintings and guide them in combination with the regional characteristics of Xinjiang.

"I didn't know much about New Year paintings before, but the non-genetic inheritors in Shandong patiently explained a lot of New Year painting knowledge, and how to use lines and deal with pink faces gave me great help." Feng Xiangmei, the creator of the New Year painting "Winter Dream", said.

The three first-prize winning works "Winter Dream", "Celebrating the Harvest" and "Inheriting People's Homes" were also selected for the "New Life, New Fashion and New Year Painting" held by the China Artists Association in 2021 - our well-off life theme art creation activity.
