△ "Zhang Raptor Monument" Song Tuoben

Teacher Li requires students to set great aspirations in teaching, but strictly requires students to learn from small things. I was in school and middle school calligraphy, after learning Liu and Yan body, I was very interested in Zhao Zhiqian's handwriting, and when he came to it one by one, he saw it and said, "Hey! Go and learn Zhao Zhiqian's 'master' "Zhang Raptor". In this way, you are at least Zhao's 'classmate', if you are serious, you may be better than Zhao in the future. Learn Zhao, then you are inferior to Zhao again!" So I switched to "Zhang Raptor". Later, I found out that Teacher Li was studying "Cuan Long Yan", so I also learned his "master" "Cuan Long Yan". In order to motivate me, he later inscribed these two sentences on my roster of teachers and friends:

Determined and holy is holy,

Determined and wise.

When I write for him to correct, he always comments on what I thought was trivial. Once, I casually wrote a line of "cheng" words, I think it is not bad, he read it loudly and said: "Pay attention in the future, the upper left corner and the horizontal must not be crossed!" ”

One vacation, I studied seals and li, and I was not clear about the order of the seal and the "mouth" characters, so I wrote to him, and he guided me in detail by returning the credit diagram method, which made me have a relationship with Han Mo in this life, but unfortunately, I involuntarily abandoned the pen in the future, far from meeting Teacher Li's expectations for me.

At that time, although Teacher Li was old, he was still tireless. Once, I told him that a cursive calligraphy hall of Zhuzhishan and Kang Youwei's calligraphy pair hung in the hall of a family in Tieling, Pingyang, which were both authentic. He listened to it and went to Pingyang Tieling to watch it, and later explained the characteristics of these two calligraphy to me.

Teacher Li often introduced the life of his teacher, Master Koichi, in front of us. Once, the school held a "Hongyi Master Calligraphy Exhibition", exhibiting about 300 works, all of which were preserved by our music teacher Liu Ziping (now this batch of cultural relics, Teacher Liu has been handed over to the state for publication. According to a magazine report, In order to preserve these cultural relics during the "Cultural Revolution", Teacher Liu preferred to die unyieldingly and was beaten by the "Red Guards" and almost lost his breath). During the meeting, Teacher Liu introduced the process of preserving Master Mobao, and after the meeting, Teacher Li also gave a special report on "Master Hongyi" at the "Academic Lecture" held by the school.

According to Teacher Li, Master Hongyi wrote many Buddha numbers during his lifetime, and asked Teacher Li to give gifts to the Buddha, and he also listed the date of the Buddha's birthday and the date of his parents' birth and death together and wrote them into a table. Teacher Li is very similar to Master Hongyi, and he also wrote "Nam no Amitabha Buddha" 6 words to give me. Later, he painted a Buddha statue with earrings on the side of a few brush strokes and a freehand painting with ink like gold, with the inscription "All beings are me" 4 characters, and the side paragraph is "Lequan Rendi Offering, Hongliang Jinghua". Attached a letter, Zhongyun: "Engrave a frame of buddha statues, and hide the clean room for you!" Later, he wrote a banner in small letters "Heart Sutra" and gave it to me, with the inscription "Hongliang Yu Mother's Taboo Day Tribute Book". Teacher Li is good at ink painting and calligraphy is simple and bold. He also often makes comics, and his style is quite similar to that of Feng Zikai. In 1925, when Lu Xun edited Mangyuan, Teacher Li posted cartoons, and two cartoons and a letter he sent to Lu Xun are still preserved in the Lu Xun Memorial Hall in Beijing.

Teacher Li once taught engraving, and also told me a lot about the theory of seal engraving, and later I published the article "Introduction to Seal Engraving", the content is still written with reference to Teacher Li's words, and I still remember the 3 idle seals that Teacher Li carved for himself. One is the seal of the name "Cihui Caotang", which commemorates his teacher, Master Hongyi Li Shutong (1880-1942); One is a white horse standing with its head bowed, indicating his zodiac sign (1894) and his personality traits; Another carved teapot contains the words "a piece of ice heart" in the middle, alluding to the sentence "a piece of ice heart in a jade pot" to show his ambition to be indifferent.

At that time, Taishun traffic was not developed and lacked seafood. Our "Lingxi District Wenshi Alumni Association" organized a "food delivery group", each of whom notified the family to do some dry seafood, and hired workers to pick it up and send it to the school once a month. Once, my family ran salted duck eggs, I gave the largest selection of 10 to Teacher Li, he did not accept it, and finally seven said eight before laughing and accepting 5, and said with a Shaoxing tone: "Geda!" From then on, I knew that he ate meat, which was not like Master Koichi.

When I graduated, Teacher Li wrote a birthday plaque for my grandfather - "Ode to The Nine Rus" 4 big characters, and gave me a painting "Moon Night Pine Forest Sleeping Crane Diagram", with the inscription "Moon Hazy, White Clouds and One Tree Crane Dream". When I went to get the painting, another classmate also asked him for a painting, and his painting was a soft vine that climbed up around the pine stem, and the inscription was: "Gentlemen are independent, snuggled up to non-heroes." I don't know how the classmate felt after taking it. But this inscription has invisibly become the "motto" of my life.

In July 1945, I bid farewell to Teacher Li and returned to my hometown after graduation in Taishun Jujiang, coinciding with the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, and the school moved back to the original site of Zhenglou in Pingyang. By the second year, Teacher Li also left school and returned to his hometown in Shaoxing. Later, I taught in Hushan, Dupu, Xiaojiang and other places for 3 years, and he often corresponded with me. The last letter also sent me a smiling photo with the words on the back: "Jundi Cun, Li Hongliang, photographed in Yongjia for thirty-four years."

In the early days of liberation, I only saw one of his award-winning Chinese paintings "Hanging Curtain Flying Bird Diagram" in the "Zhejiang Daily", and later I could not hear from Teacher Li.

△ In the tenth month of the lunar calendar in 1931, Master Hongyi took a photo in Shaoxing Kuaige, photographed by Li Hongliang.

Recently, I read Mr. Xu Qinwen's article "Master of The Arts Li Shutong," which accompanied me by a photograph taken by Teacher Li Hongliang in shaoxing in the autumn of 1931 for Master Hongyi, and said: "This photograph was given to me by Mr. Li Hongliang when he retired." It is learned that after the liberation, Teacher Li continued to contribute his late years to the cause of art education in the motherland.

Decades have passed, and all the calligraphy, paintings, seal engravings, and letters he gave me have been destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution", which makes my heart ache! Today, there is only one picture of him left, and he is still smiling at me, like a ray of kindness, looking for the lost childhood dream...
