Shijiazhuang, 23 Jan (Xinhua) -- On 23 January, the Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village (Paralympic Village) (hereinafter referred to as zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village) of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games pre-opened the village and ushered in the first batch of "residents". More than 40 members of the advance delegation from Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries and regions arrived successively.

Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village is located in the core area of Zhangjiakou Competition Area, 10 minutes' drive from the ancient poplar tree stadium cluster to the south and 12 minutes' drive from Genting Ski Park in the north, covering an area of 19.7 hectares, with a total construction area of 239,000 square meters, divided into residential area, square area and operation area.
The residential area is composed of 9 apartment building groups and 1 public group; the square area covers an area of about 21,700 square meters, consisting of 22 operating spaces such as commercial services, sponsor services, franchising, traditional Chinese medicine displays, cultural activities, etc.; the operation area is a place that will provide in and out of the village for residents, visitors, media and other personnel in the village during the competition, including the athletes' bus station, the delegation reception and visitor center, the media center, the security center, etc.

On the same day, the operation team of the Venue of Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village carried out the whole process of member connection, temperature measurement and disinfection, security inspection registration activation, baggage delivery, apartment building occupancy and other whole-process work in accordance with the workflow line and epidemic prevention requirements, and orderly guided and organized the first batch of residents to move in.
In addition, the plaza area business located in the Winter Olympic Village opened its doors on the same day. There are 22 operating spaces in the business district, including licensed shops, convenience stores, athlete hair salons, and traditional Chinese skills and skills display and experience areas.
In terms of catering protection, at 11:00 noon on the same day, the athletes' restaurant officially opened. The red lanterns hanging inside the restaurant and the Chinese-style decorations such as the paper cuts posted on the theme of the Winter Olympics were well received by the members of the delegation.

The general clinic in the Winter Olympic Village is also open for operation. The four-storey complex will operate 24 hours a day after the official opening of the village and can provide multilingual services such as English, French, Spanish and German.
The reporter learned from the interview that Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Village will officially open on January 27, running for a total of 53 days, and closing the village on March 16. During the Winter Olympics, it is expected to host 2020 athletes and accompanying officials from 79 national and regional delegations. During the Winter Paralympic Games, it is expected to host 644 athletes and accompanying officials from 39 national and regional delegations.
