On February 25, the Beijing Winter Paralympic Village ushered in the opening of the village. On the first day of the village, it received a total of 207 people from 9 delegations from China, Italy, the Czech Republic, Belarus, South Korea, Norway and Sweden, including 51 wheelchair athletes. It is expected to receive 136 people on the 26th. Throughout the Winter Olympic Village, the Beijing Winter Paralympic Village is expected to receive 14 delegations, athletes and team officials about 500 athletes and team officials.
The reporter learned that on the first day of the opening of the village on February 25, the Chinese sports delegation already had a Paralympic ice hockey team, a Paralympic alpine skiing team, a Paralympic snowboarding, a Paralympic cross-country skiing and a biathlon in five sports, strictly implemented the relevant epidemic prevention and control requirements of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the process of entering the village, safely and smoothly stationed in the Winter Paralympic Village, and will carry out various adaptive training in an orderly manner. Among them, Paralympic snowboarding, Paralympic cross-country skiing and biathlon teams stayed in Zhangjiakou Winter Paralympic Village. The Paralympic Alpine Ski Team stayed at the Yanqing Winter Paralympic Village. The Paralympic Ice Hockey Team will stay at the Beijing Winter Paralympic Village, and the Wheelchair Curling Team will also stay at the Beijing Winter Paralympic Village on 2 March.
"Two Olympics, equally wonderful". From 12:00 noon on February 23 to 8:00 a.m. on February 25, Beijing Winter Olympic Village completed the conversion to the Winter Paralympic Village within 44 hours, making preparations for the official opening of the Winter Paralympic Village.
In order to provide villagers with meticulous and comprehensive services in all aspects of eating, living and traveling, the apartment building, fitness center, entertainment center, square area and other areas have carried out facility and equipment conversion and temporary barrier-free facilities; the restaurant has re-planned the way of dining seats and drinks, and reserved more than 100 wheelchair seats; and the square area has opened a wheelchair prosthetic repair center.
According to the actual needs of the race, the village will also prepare for barrier-free special vehicles, equipped with barrier-free shuttle buses, provide special platforms for the disabled, special parking spaces and connecting battery cars, and set up special auxiliary personnel.
During the transition period, the Beijing Winter Paralympic Village carried out knowledge and skills training for staff in the Winter Paralympic Games and services for the disabled in various fields, and promoted all staff, especially those in the "front-line" business fields such as arrival and departure, accommodation, catering, and transportation, to master the general policies of the Winter Paralympic Games, as well as the basic etiquette, communication skills, service skills and other content that should be known to the disabled.
