The victory in the Battle of Menglianggu was of great significance, and it was a large-scale mountain movement annihilation war that directly reversed the situation in East China. In particular, the destruction of the reorganized 74th Division really dealt a complete blow to the arrogance of the Kuomintang.
Among them, why did the Nationalist army lose the Battle of Menglianggu? Naturally, there are many reasons, and one of them is that Tang Enbo's First Corps did not keep up with the integrated 74th Division in time, which directly caused Zhang Lingfu's troops to be completely annihilated.

In 1928, Tang Enbo was successfully admitted to the sixth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, and then his performance in the school was indeed remarkable, plus he was a Zhejiang native, and Chiang Kai-shek was a fellow countryman, so Chiang Kai-shek soon began to notice him.
Tang Enbo this person actually has some achievements in the military, but this person's character is indeed not to be complimented, especially the love of money, Chiang Kai-shek of course also clearly knows Tang Enbo's beating, but who let Tang Enbo really be loyal to himself, for this reason Chiang Kai-shek is also willing to use him, for his dirty behavior, but also choose to turn a blind eye.
In the War of Resistance Against Japan, Tang Enbo once ruled Henan because of his military achievements, but what he did not expect was that Tang Enbo who arrived in Henan became a "bandit" in the mouths of the local people, and it was rumored that there were 4 major disasters in Henan, which were described as "water drought locust soup, Henan four wildernesses", and the "soup" in it refers to Tang Enbo.
In fact, the people of Henan really did not wrongfully accuse him, and in Li Zongren's memoirs, he clearly recorded the misdeeds of Tang Enbo's army in Henan, and it is very appropriate to describe it as a bandit.
As for whether Tang Enbo made any contributions to the anti-Japanese resistance, how to say it, there was still a little attack in the Battle of Taierzhuang, but it was far less than what others boasted, but he began to establish his own faction after his power was greater, which once made Chiang Kai-shek very jealous, which was also an important reason why Tang Enbo's 13th Army was later taken back.
And one of the anecdotes must be mentioned, that is, at that time Meng Lianggu was defeated, chiang kai-shek was naturally mad, and the main person responsible was actually Tang Enbo, for which Chiang Kai-shek directly knelt in front of all the soldiers, and then picked up the crutch in his hand and beat him fiercely, and finally beat Tang Enbo with blood.
After the Liberation War, Tang Enbo also followed Chiang Kai-shek to Taiwan, but indeed has not been reused, in May 1954, Tang Enbo chose to go to Japan for treatment because of stomach disease, but what he did not expect was that this trip to Japan was the end of Tang Enbo's life, on June 29 of the same year, Tang Enbo died in The University Hospital of Keio Yoshijuku University in Tokyo, and some people disclosed that he was murdered by Japanese doctors, and the real cause of death was indeed very strange, and it is still impossible to truly determine.
